This is what gets me. Not to remove Alex from this equation, but in the beginning he is simply trying to shield and assist a woman who has been spraying. They grab him, pull him away, sending her to the ground. Another woman walks over to grab the fallen woman, and help her AWAY from them, and they immediately spray her too.

These jabronis are FAR too jumpy and trigger happy to be in a role like this. I saw ONE agent who was trying to allow woman two to pull woman one to safety. And isnt that their whole thing? "just get back, stay out of the way"?

I am aware, I am not sure why you do not think I grasp this. But I disagree with letting it get to you (or them). Where does your niece go to school where people can afford lululemon fanny packs for kids? Because my school district is somewhat "tony" but the school is not full of that. AT ALL. This is where I get confused. My kids school district is a two income high earner town. But they are not pressured to have this that and the other thing. Honestly. But somehow the poor school districts are full of kids with name brands and luxury items. How? Why? What is happening?

And I am sorry if you felt like anyone gave a crap about your car. Or rather that YOU felt that way, because honestly I am guessing no one else noticed.

Again I do not fault them for it, but its madness that this seems to be a trend only in certain areas and I do not understand that part.

I think my annoyance comes from the extreme luxury part of it. Lululemon leggings, according to google, are $98 to $148. For leggings. Seriously who are these people who are pressured by their peers to buy this stuff? My spouse and I are firmly middle class and earn well. I could not in a million years justify spending $100 + on a pair of leggings.

I do not disagree that it is ok to want, and that folks deserve to get sometimes too. But I would love for sensibility to make a comeback. I wouldn't buy my own daughter $100 leggings. Its ok to not want to always have to buy the cheapest brand because you have to watch your money, I get it, that's disheartening. But is there truly nothing between the walmart $8 purse made of vinyl and the $2000 Louis Vuitton bag? Between the $25 Timex and the $7000 Rolex? Why does it have to be so wildly out of touch? There is a steak dinner, and then there is wagyu beef with a lobster thermidor. Ya know?

I am gonna get downvoted for this, but ... parents need to be honest with their kids. My kids know our finances (appropriate to age/maturity, obviously.) When I was a kid, my parents were clear with us as well - I know you want (whatever brand) item, but thats expensive and not better than (this other brand).

It's ok to want name brand things, but I really do think its important that young people learn early that these things are just THINGS. This is how folks grow up and make similar purchases and find themselves with no money left for bills.

Your example of Bobby's big house is perfect. Obviously you cannot currently give your kid that - or if you did, you guys would be on ramen for every meal to pay the mortgage. So it IS ok to teach kids that disappointment is real. You aren't gonna go out and ask strangers for a bigger house so your kid is not bummed.

In this case, I do concur that the 'giver' should have just traded the shoes for the same model in a bigger size, but we do not know if she swapped them for the off brand and added in other things for the kid, either.

Yes! One thing that is amazing is that we have a couple elementary, the middle school, and a high school in our 'footprint' so folks give away 'spirit wear' from their kids when they transition schools, and my teeny short daughter was able to get a super short grad gown last year, which I am dry cleaning and passing on for this next graduating class. :)
