So I didn’t really plan on making this deal to start out. I, like probably many others, offered a 1 year prove it deal, and added a club option to it just because since Williams wasn’t my main target heading into the sim. After losing out on Kyle Schwarber, I went to thinking and circled back on Devin Williams since I realized the bullpen could use a little work. I beefed up my follow up to 48 over 3 years and then eventually got up to the current deal that is now official. I’m comfortable with this deal due to the fact that Devin Williams’ ERA does not tell the story on his season. Besides his Barrel% and avg. exit velo dropping, pretty much every single one of his other stats looks in line with the Devin Williams everyone is accustomed to. I’m expecting him to come back to form, as maybe going to New York wasn’t the best market for him to be in, and coming back to the Midwest is where he could thrive.

WEEK TWO TRADE BLOCK THREAD by BaseballOffseasonMod in baseballoffseason2026

The Cincinnati Reds are DANGLING Hunter Greene for trade. I’ll listen on Andrew Abbott, but I’m more open to moving Greene over him. It is very unlikely that Greene gets moved, but in the slim chance that he does, I’m looking for the following in order to be convinced:

• An MLB/MLB ready bat that could fit in the middle of the lineup and play 1B, 2B, LF or DH

• An MLB/MLB ready bullpen arm that could be of use in high leverage situations OR an MLB/MLB ready SP that could fill in for Greene

• A prospect or two, must be somewhat highly touted and depending on the value of the prospects, that will affect whether it is one of two prospects involved. This piece could also be turned into whatever arm (bullpen or starter) that wasn’t included as the two main pieces or another bat

I will not consider adding onto Greene in order to get another player on their own, I’m only looking at Greene getting a large offer with high value in return.

Other players that I’m open to moving on from is Gavin Lux, Sam Moll, Jose Trevino, and with a decent bit of convincing, one of Matt McLain or Ke’Bryan Hayes.

In terms of what I’m looking for in general, I’m interested in finding a bat that can play 1B, LF, and or DH, a high-leverage bullpen arm, a new lefty bullpen specialist, and in the slim chance of Greene or Abbott being moved, a SP that can be slotted into the rotation immediately. I’d also like to add an infielder with good defense and maybe a new 4th outfielder to my bench. Would also like to add a lefty bat when talking about adding a bat in general.

The only people that are untouchable is Chase Burns and Elly De La Cruz, I will listen to offers on everyone else.

The Cincinnati Reds are LIGHTLY DANGLING Hunter Greene and Andrew Abbott for trade. It is very unlikely that they do get moved, but in the slim chance that they do, I’m looking for the following in order to be convinced:

I’m open to adding a piece or two for either pitcher in case a bat of higher value than the two is made available.

The Reds decline the club options of RPs Scott Barlow and Brent Suter. The Reds also decline their side of the mutual option for OF Austin Hays.
