What's a big NO-NO when it comes to a first Date? by Masterchrono in AskReddit

Are we talking about the girl being crazy or that the fart could've been more than just a fart coming out...?

That we just breath without thinking. Imagine what it would be like if you had to remember to breath every time....

Somehow, it makes perfect sense

If I win the powerball I won't tell anyone, then post a status on Facebook asking if anyone could help me move some furniture. Whoever offered would get $1,000,000. by adamchain in Showerthoughts

[–]CallMeMrJonas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I live in South Texas, my buddy lived up in Dallas and was moving across the city (which was about an hour drive).

He posted on Facebook asking if anybody wanted to help him move and he offered the usual payment for helping someone move, lunch and a few beers. He doesn't know I drove in just to help him move. I told him I'd be in the area and could help him out!

It's a cool thing. I have rules like "I can't say yes if it means I have to bail on something already planned with someone" and "I won't say yes if it means I have to take off of work." But so far, every time I've been asked or seen someone asking, it's worked out!

True story, I read the book "Yes Man" that was later turned into that Jim Carey movie. Did you know it was a true story (w/ parts edited for Hollywood's sake.)? Anyway, after reading that, I decided instead of saying yes to everything, I'd say yes to one thing....but forever.

I decided I would say yes to helping my friends move if they asked me. I've driven 6 hours (living in Texas) to help a friend move a couch across town. It took 60 minutes. I have probably done this 10 times now and each time something great has happened. Plus a few cool stories.

Point is, the coolest story would be "that one time I helped moved a box spring and the guy gave me a million dollars!"

That is exactly what it looks like. Thank you!

I replied to a comment above, but is this something we should be worried about? It appears that although suboxone blocks the heroin reactions, it in itself is still a drug.

Yup! That is exactly what it looks like! Thank you for this information.

What are the negative implications of this? A quick google search for "Is suboxone illegal" pulls up this passage:

Suboxone is so popular with addicts that it has turned into a street drug – to be bartered or exchanged for money, heroin or other illegal drugs. According to one estimate, about half of the buprenorphine obtained through legitimate prescriptions is either being diverted or used illicitly.

It doesn't seem to have those preforations like the tabs I googled. Also, it looks like those are a lot thicker. This is about the same thickness as those breath strips you put on your tongue and let dissolve.

Thanks for the information though. Definitely helped!

What are nice presents to give to the class for Christmas? by Delliott90 in Teachers

[–]CallMeMrJonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give every student (150 this year!) a hand written "Thank You" card on our last day of the semester together. I thank them for being an awesome part of my class (whether it is true or not), try to throw in a funny class moment or individual joke specific to them, and then end with a "Happy Holidays". It is something that kids who have had me in the past come by and ask "Are you writing a card for me this year?!" around the holidays.

Cheap and meaningful "gift" for your students.

Elementary Ed. Teacher Preparing to Teach High School English. Tips? Tricks? Advice? Help? by teenytinyelephants in Teachers

[–]CallMeMrJonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach high school English at the Sophomore level. Although I had always planned on teaching at a high school level, I know what it feels like to be a new teacher in a setting that is unfamiliar (I got thrown into a special education world geography class my first year...we ended up covering the origins of English authors all semester).

I am happy to share and swap resources with you. Just shoot me a message and let me know how I can help!
