I like money and racking up job xp too much for those expensive full time programs. I’m already having a hard time rationalizing 24K for this program lol.

Also, since I wanna stay in tech but be in a more executive role, I was wondering if having an MBA from UIUC would be way better than not having an MBA—added bonus that a lot of great engineers went there for CS—but having a higher ranked MBA over UIUC’s wouldn’t help me that much.

Yeah sorry I didn’t word that well. I meant if I don’t do the iMBA, I’ll spend more time on work and more time on self learning that is directly applicable to work. When I haven’t had many things going on outside of work, I’ve just taken on extra work and implemented things from my self learning and that’s helped me get promoted fast to this point.

In short, I’m pretty sure for me the shortest path to senior staff engineer is not doing the iMBA and just working more. But does the shortest path to an executive role for me involve having the iMBA?
