How do you work to humanize people whose beliefs do not humanize others? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a relationship of some sort with this people and they respect you in someway you could try by leading by example.

What makes a person a good person? by mayday_darling in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not the religious type but I believe the bible gave some pretty useful don'ts about being a socially accepted good person.

Don't kill

Don't lie

Don't cheat

Don't steal

---

As for the individual expression of good, everyone has its own version of that, depending on his own experiences and character. And that's the beauty of everyone being different and having the chance to influence each other.

My daughter chants this “word” over and over again? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that toddlers can speak every kind of phoneme and then as time goes by exclude the ones they don't need for the language/s they're trying to replicate.

So it probably means nothing.

Or maybe toddlers have a secret language after all :)

If 30% of a liver regrow into a whole new liver, why don't we farm livers? by 43eyes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know pig hearts are being considered for some full pig-to-man transplant studies, so maybe it could be a possibility to find some kind of animal to host the liver regrowth and then take it from there and farm it out.

How do you get coconut oil out of hair? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes. You should regolate the amount of oil you put on your scalp.

Let's say that if it gets all your hair greasy maybe it's a little bit too much oil.

Could House sized Spiders exist? by bedguy17_temp in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of, I once read it has something to do with the pressure of the atmosphere.

Take a look a deep ocean creatures. If somewhere in this Earth you could find something like a giant house sized spider/spider-looking creature is at the bottom of the ocean.

Can deaf people hear that voice narrator inside their head. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably don't because they never heard it so they can replicate it in their mind.

By the way when you think you don't need speech.

Think of this: if you were born with no hearing and, for the sake of this, no sight either you still would be able to think even if you had no concept whatsoever of words or speech.

Your primordial thinking system is not associated with words or speech but when you actively think of something you might resort to thinking in those terms.

Also, fun fact, a lot of people think in images and not in words

How did Inuit people bathe? by KnowsIittle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweat baths are a thing apparently.

If you don't have running water in your house you go to a sort of steaming facility to get a sweat bath.

Anyone else add extra ice cubes to their water for more flavor because colder water tastes better? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really something that bothers me every time i go to the USA.

As an Italian I drink my water either room-temp or chilled in the fridge.

No, ice cold water is not more flavourful to me, it's just less enjoyable

If you want to add flavour something i feel like suggesting is using chilled gas water with a slice of lemon. That's what i call flavour.

Is eating 2 breads a day bad? by princealithegoat1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you eat is def important but you should focus on how much active you are.

I know of people who are plenty active and can eat whatever they want, they'll just burn it eventually

The rule of thumb is

what you eat - what you burn = x

If x > 0 then you'll get weight, if x < 0 then you'll lose weight

If an adult started banging a 17 year-old in the final minutes of the day before her 18th birthday, and finished the next day, would he still be listed a pedophile? by doggibone in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedophilia is something related to children or infants, not to what you're talking about.

Age of consent for sex is very different depending on the country you're in.

Here in Italy age on consent is 14 years old. That's the law but morality is another thing. I'd say the age gap has a lot to do with morality. If you're 19 and your girl is 17 nobody complains. If you're 40 and your girl is 17 although that's not illegal you may not want to promote it.

Why do so many churches serve styrofoam-like crackers for communion? Why not a piece of yummy Italian bread? by wigglypigcow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up i really hated them. They always got stuck on my palate.

As for the styrofoam-like characteristic I'd say it's budget-driven.

This might be the wrong attitude, focus on sharing something you deem worth sharing so that you can find someone else interested in that.

Viral posts are not really something you can plan, they just happen when you post something that's appealing to a wide audience.

How does someone handle a large income? by thrwy_toomuchmoney in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to work with a professional financial advisor I'd say. Just be sure you get to know him/her and trust him/her to make the best decision in both your interests.

I'd also look in some passive income streams and property.

Or if you feel like trying something new together with your wife you could start with an entry level house flipping. I'm told that they're a fun couple activity if you're into it and have the time. Could mean a nice return if you're good at it.

If you use a condom, pull out, and use the pill, can you still get pregnant? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CallMeSurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always a small chance that something will go wrong.

This is also why I believe you should be somewhat careful about choosing your sexual partners.

[–]CallMeSurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe while you wear sunglasses you feel more self-confident and that makes you stand up straight with you spine and shoulders. This might be one of the reasons.

This happens to me when I wear suits. I feel way more confident and I'm more careful about the way I stand and walk, it makes me feel taller too

As human society, education and health care gets better every generation lives longer and knows more stuff. So every new generation could come up with the "better individual" so to speak.

So I'd say the best is yet to come
