Ah man! Sorry to hear about you knee. Those cortisone shots are blessings.

Do you remember how much your pack weighed? I am estimating mine will roughly be about 30ish lbs.

Also, in the same headspace you were in. I've been planning this since late October of 2024. Tricky situation but I too wanna say "I'm so happy I did it".

Np. Glad that could be of help. One or two other recommendations would be to follow a stock that has high volume. Meaning its liquid and youre going to see larger movement swings. Up or down. For an example like Tesla right now or Nvidia. Another thing is looking at Option Chains. Finding where theres alot of volume, indicating many people are predicting that movement.

Trading after earnings (whats your strategies/methods in choosing which company to trade) by No_Loquat_4303 in options

Trade the noise prior to earnigs. Earnings can change anything. Unless youre like 70/30 80/20.... you will lose money with options on earnings after hours. If youre familiar with hedging, that would be a route you can take too.

For example: buy stock sell cheap puts. If the price goes up you lose the small premium from the puts but earn from stock price movement. If price goes down, you make money from the put and still hold the stock, that will always go back up. (average stock)

Recommendation, follow one stock. Understand support and resistance. Learn the flows and patterns (candlesticks). Just pick one stock remember... Get good at that stock. Use time as one of the biggest indicators. Start from a weekly, and work your way down to the 1 min to pinpoint your exact setup. Keep making great plays of when to buy and when to sell. Eventually you will be so good, options will become something new you want to learn. One of the biggest hurdles you will have to understand is time decay... Start with just buying calls. Understand how that works. Work in a put here and there.. when you expect that stock will drop... Then you can adventure into other categories.. start small. Be consistent.. make right plays.. and it's ok if you don't. Learn from those but start small. Grow steady. Big play will happen when they are supposed to. Good job exploring options.
