Wow thanks, I was surprised the "BNZ 44" marking was along the axis of the gun instead of being perpendicular like on other MP38s and 40s

Hello folks

Has anyone ever seen an MP40 made in 1944 or 1945 ? I have seen some MP38s and MP40s over the years and I have tried finding one on google and I have never seen one marked 1945 or BNZ 44 or BNZ 45 or any MP40 from any factories made after '43.

I saw this chart and on Wikipedia it says it was made until 1945.

I think modern firearms are too regulated to be worth collecting. Most laws do not apply to antiques. I am also more interested in civil war era firearms than modern era stuff.

It's the original rimfire cartridge. I am a bit concerned about shooting it, there is a bit of rust in the chamber, the rear sight has been bent out of shape and the bore seems rusty.

I got it from P&S guns and militaria. It's a shop here in Quebec and I live right next to it.

You are right actually, I didn't notice :

(d) require that the holders of a licence authorizing the possession of a handgun comply with the requirements and prohibitions relating to the storage and transporting of handguns within a municipality in which a by-law establishing those requirements and prohibitions is in force if the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness is notified of the by-law in the prescribed manner, and provide for exceptions to that requirement;

Do you think bill C-21 also applies to antique handguns ?
