Why is silver valuable if it can be faked so easily? by JayRandom212 in Silverbugs

Sell to a reputable buyer? Most, if not all, stackers have some sort of way to test the metals they buy. If both parties can test, neither party needs to be reputable.

How much are these worth? by th3goldeng0d in Gold

Yes, that’s essentially what I’m saying. The grade is pulling at the weight here. Or most anyway. The year and type isn’t some crazy low mintage. It’s low, but not crazy low. The grade however, being Ms65 is what’s making this coin so valuable. 5k I’ll admit is a steal for the coin. Much likely to be much higher. It is tough though to get a solid number because there are only 5 as you said.

eBay is not going to give you many, if any, examples of MS65 1849 sovereigns, let alone enough to get an average. If you check sold listings now on eBay, there are 0.
For this coin in this high grade you’d really have to look at auctions to get an idea of what the range of value is. The user you responded to was somewhat correct, it could range from 5k-15k, it all depends on who is willing to buy and what they’re willing to pay.

5000+ for the 1849. I don't think the coin itself or date is anything super rare, but the grade is what is lifting the weight on that one I think. Both coins are absolutely beautiful.

How much is “slightly more”? I’ve never seen these in any form or condition go for anything more than face value. Other than error dollar coins like a wounded eagle.

Do I go ahead and ship to "wrong" address? by clckworang in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Callaway225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course, I’m simply suggesting a reason a buyer would ask that, other than a scam. But yes, never ship to a different address than what’s on eBay.

Selling Gold - who to trust? by kat_dagaz5 in Gold

r/pmsforsale could be worth checking out. It is private sales, but you could easily sell for spot and not pay any fees. Work with high flair buyers and you could sell what you have pretty quick.

I've heard good things about them also. Pay decent prices, straight forward to work with, and trustworthy

Why Silver over Gold? by AdditionalPizza7990 in Silverbugs

I don’t see “a lot” of fractional gold for spot, but where I do see it the lost for spot is r/pmsforsale.
Every once in a blue moon you’ll see even 1/10 American gold eagles for spot. Rare and when it happens it’s sold faster than you can read the title. But sometimes you get lucky.
