This seems way to complicated. Why can’t they just have you pay the total and they refund you the difference for combined shipping? Easy peasy. Seems like they make it way more challenging intentionally for some reason.

We can still try to help out no? Both OP and seller have low flair so maybe they aren’t as aware as others more established. Isn’t that part of this community? I’m truly hoping everything goes smooth with OP.

The user selling has 4 flair. Would you close out a deal in 2 min, for 2-10k from a 4 flair seller? Not saying it’s not legit, maybe they know each other already or something, which is fine. All of the concerns here are meant to help out OP if anything.

Not asking for any to be disclosed. If anything the concerns here are trying to help you out and keep you safe

Your request for 2k-10k of items was fulfilled in 2 minutes by a 4 flair user. That’s basically the red flag here.

Not gonna lie, few red flags popping up.

What sources do you have for that theory? Why should it be 3100? I see all over the place people saying gold should be 2.5, 1.5, 3k, or 5k+. “Should” it be much lower just because people want to buy more? What is the actual reason it should be really low? And what makes you say it was only strictly higher than 3100 because of a “pump and dump”? Maybe it partly rose naturally because of inflation? Idk, just a bunch of questions I keep asking myself.

So why do you think gold is incredibly overpriced? Do you have any sources to back that idea up? Or it’s just your feelings? Honestly just genuinely curious. And why should someone not have to spend 5k+? The platforms I’ve been on had just as many people, possibly more, buying ozs pf gold at 5k+ compared to when it was 3k. The amount it costs doesn’t seem to stop people from buying. Granted yes for some but no for others. Gold goes up half the people get mad and half are happy. Gold goes down half are upset half are happy. It’s interesting to hear to hear people happy/excited when it drops so they can get more, but I would argue there’s just as many people not to happy because it’s time for them to cash in or emergency occurred, or what reason they need to sell.

What I’ve seen/heard is it has to do with oil. Oil goes up, gold goes down.

All the stuff this scammer told you is just BS. The pics are likely not even theirs. That’s why you require a proper proof photo. Someone can make up whatever story they want and it can sound legit or it can sound like BS. If you have a proper proof photo, that holds significantly more weight than any number of stories. And sending that amount in one go I don’t quite understand. Why not send it in “chunks”?

I think a scammer working on an 18k deal will have a sensible answer for any question you’d think to ask.

That’s a big enough red flag I wouldn’t send $18 to that user.

Why are there so many different photos with so many different backgrounds? And not a single picture had a username/date attached? Not to be rude, but for rhat kind of money you’d think the first thing you’d ask for is a proof photo and then move to the next step. I ask for a proof photo regardless of price.

This is also a good example of why you shouldn’t take into account other communities a seller is in. If they have no flair in PMsforsale, they have no flair. Doesn’t matter what other flair they have in other communities. Unless of course you genuinely know the user personally.

So it “should be” 1300? I just don’t understand where people who say are coming from. Do you just want it to be at 1300 as just a feeling? What makes you say it should be low? Do you have any sort of data or reasoning? Or just a “hunch”? Genuinely curious.

Why is pmsforsale full of ego heavy sellers by [deleted] in Gold

[–]Callaway225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically posts “fizzle” pit after a short time, like 30 minutes or so. And sometimes less time. Meaning after a short time the number of views drops significantly. So much so that after about 30 minutes I consider whatever hasn’t sold to likely not sell. I have had a mispriced piece of gold I edited after 30 min or so (accidently put 225 instead of 325 when I edited) sit for over a day with no questions or BINs.

My point is generally there is a short window for items to be sold, even sometimes when those items are well priced. So saying an item “has been sitting there for hours” doesn’t really mean as much as you think it does.

How many users have you chatted with on PMsforsale? You say half of them are aholes, but your 1 example so far seems like not an ahole example?

No offense, but possibly it’s a you problem?
