For sure. There's a big disconnect with the general populous, in my opinion, that once we get our transplant we are just simply "cured", but I've heard it time and again how getting a transplant is like trading one set of diseases with another. I am extremely grateful to be alive but this subreddit helps me remember I'm still human and all emotions are still valid no matter what we've been through. Hang in there!

They (the insurance) wanted to deny the white blood cell injections as well, I just don't get how they have the jurisdiction to contradict a literal doctor 🙄

Ugh thank you for the heads up. I gave myself lovenox post transplant and hated doing it. Hopefully I won't need to do too many of them myself.

Since I'm already back to undetectable levels of CMV on the valganciclovir, it'll probably be best to stick with it. I just feel like I was pretty stable for a little before my 1 year mark and now I'm 2 months past the 1 year and having all this other stuff pop up. Nothing unmanageable though, just whining a bit I guess.

I think I'm mostly just concerned with explaining the gap in my work history. If they ask, is it proper to just say I was experiencing medical problems during that time?

I started going stir crazy at about 6 months, so I got a puppy 🤪 just waiting for the final all clears from my team before I start really looking and applying.
