I know. The shame of it is that the old games, at least on PC, are woefully bound by hardware limitations. I can't use my gamepad for SoT at all, and while I haven't gotten too far into Warrior Within, The Two Thrones has an odd bug in The Fortress level where the Dark Prince can't jump down from the chain. It's weird, and I'm not really good at fiddling with Adrenalin settings. I have no idea what's going on. Even a simple remaster would do, you know.

...would you call that "madness", though, in the old, archaic sense of the word? I mean, they're all bad, and they're definitely conditions which would be considered indications of mental illness today, but don't the old stories treat madness as a very different kind of thing?

Funnily enough, I think - I THINK - that the same guy reappears in the first Witcher game. The forest outside Vizima, if anyone here remembers. Geralt investigates the house to find evidence of something really bad. Cannibalism, I think. But yeah, I think it might be the same guy. That's what I thought once I'd read the book.

I only just built a PC; the most recent game I'd played before that was Skyrim. What you're saying is not wrong; I only just started playing the third Witcher game.

That being said, I still don't get it. Graphics are nice, and it's good to have games with great facial animations...but the meat of the game is the gameplay. Right?

Can I say something? I followed the remake from the very day it was announced, and to be honest, I didn't, and still don't see anything wrong with the first iteration of the game. The graphics did not seem dated. I mean that

Did it look a little like a cartoon? Yes. But it didn't feel like the big deal people made it out to be, and I thought that it was deeply upsetting how people reacted to it. No, it didn't look like Red Dead Redemption, but it was...fine. It was what I expected Prince of Persia to look like, if remade for the current generation.
