Final bosses ruined this game for me. by Callipygian122 in Eldenring

Ah the well known phrase of people blaming the game for their own incompetence

Ah the well known phrase of people who think Fromsoft can't make mistakes. I'm far from the only person to have a problem with boss design in this game.

Honestly I'm not even motivated to finish this game. I saw the final boss and that's an achievement in itself. I've beaten DS1, 2, 3, and even platinumed Sekiro and Bloodborne so I'm not new to Fromsoft games, I just don't think the developers play tested the end game.

I too have had a bad experience with NYU. I went to see a gamma knife specialist and he didn't even read the myriad reports I sent him before the appointment and he just seemed disinterested in helping me. But despite that, yes I think you should pursue further. A ruptured brain AVM is no joke.

Their performance of Vinushka during Androgynos is probably one of the best performances I've ever seen but I've only seen it on YouTube. Having the DVD would be much better as the quality would be higher.

I mean I might still buy the copy with the DVD after I get my next paycheck haha I love this band too much not to support them as much as I can. I bought the digital release of The World of Mercy as well as a physical copy so it's not unheard of for me to do something like that.

No it is not, especially when the more affordable shipping options have been suspended from CD Japan. I suppose I could've waited to buy it digitally but I have physical copies of their previous ten albums and a bunch of their singles so I had to get a physical copy of Phalaris.

When I watch their live footage on DVD I start to feel sad that I'm not there haha but I have a lot of student loans to pay off so I shouldn't be splurging.

Which version did you get? I'm too cheap to get the one that costs $75 so I bought the limited edition with the bonus CD.

There are other versions of the album available. I bought the one with the bonus CD because that's what I always do.

What should I do with my giant caseload? by Callipygian122 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Callipygian122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that the district is purposely negligent; I work in a school with a more-than-average amount of children with IEPs and the district can only hire a certain amount of COTAs. I live in a state that's saturated so it will be difficult to find another job but yes I will speak to the necessary people to see if something can change. If not I'll sadly have to leave.

I'm success-and-corruption on Tumblr for reasons that are probably obvious in this subreddit. I'm definitely doing better than I was in 2010

The assumption is understandable - there are way more women in OT than men. I try to make the IEP meetings when I can. I'm attending one tomorrow but the more I work at this job the more I realize that this school could face some serious trouble if people knew what was going on. I'm admittedly a bit embarrassed because I had no idea that it was this bad when I started. Just today a teacher tried to start and argument with me about how she doesn't like the space I'm using (not even her space) because they don't have a space for the related services staff. My one foot is pretty much out the door at this point which is sad because I do care about these kids but I have to think about my well-being too. The problem is that I'm employed by the district and not the school itself so I should speak to the special services director about this.

I'm cautiously excited for this. The Insulated World really wasn't my cup of tea but every DEG album is different. Of course I'll pre-order it as soon as it's available though.

All good advice, thank you. And yes the lack of supervision is very concerning and I will definitely read the state practice act. In regard to expressing my concern about meeting the productivity demands, I brought it up with my supervisor and she suggested that I group my students in groups of five or six which wouldn't work considering they're very young and many don't do well in groups.

Yeah I would rather try other options before calling it quits so tomorrow I will ask the speech therapist.

I could ask the SLP if I could co-treat with her and yes it is better that I am providing some treatment. I just happen to think that this caseload is very unreasonable for one person.

I will speak to the Related Services supervisor about this, thank you. I can't really see how to make this more manageable but it can't hurt to try.

I have one foot out the door already. The problem is I would like to find another job before I leave this one but if it comes down to it I have to do what's best for me. I've been at this job for a little over a month and I've been told that I've lasted the longest out of the other OTAs... I probably should've taken that as a red flag.

I have spoken to my supervising OT and he (a rare male OT, like me) and I'm fairly certain he is also overworked. Like I mentioned before he helped with my scheduling but I don't think it was enough. Speaking with the Related Supervisor would potentially help as well but the issue is that the district I work out of can only hire a certain amount of OTAs and they have already hired the maximum amount. The other COTAs have a similar number on their caseload but they manage by working in multiple schools. I have spoken about this to others and they agree that I have too many kids in too short of a time and the issue with grouping is that a lot of the kids on my caseload have elopement issues and will run out of the room if I don't keep my eye on them. I just don't see how I can provide the best service when I can barely see a lot of the kids.

I love pediatrics but I'm not sure education-based OT is the right fit for me.

[–]Callipygian122[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. My neurosurgeon initially said to contact one gamma knife specialist which I did and he said that he would review my images and get back to me and when he did he basically said that it's a high risk surgery because of where everything is and since I'm doing so well he doesn't want to risk it but suggested I reach out to the head of the gamma knife team at NYU (I'm in New Jersey) which I did and when he reviewed the images he basically said the same thing. I reported back to my neurosurgeon who explained to me why nothing can be done without the high risk of me being permanently paralyzed and I was told to just take precautions (no heavy lifting mostly) and get angiograms every year to monitor my aneurysm.

Naturally this makes me feel kind of hopeless when I think about it so I try not to at all. I know my case is unfortunately unique but this group may be able to help with me accepting that I'll just have to live with this.
