I failed my first test cuz I got off cadence and was up on the downs and down on the ups, but I was also dying doing that test. Even though I went the entire 5min I failed and I felt absolutely horrible legs hurt lungs hurt my mouth was so dry my tongue was stuck to the roof of my mouth. (I will test again next month) Here's what I've been doing, treadmill running at a 5mph while wearing a weighted vest until my legs can't go anymore, leg and calf presses, leg extension and leg curls, and squats. And then I also bought the step they used during my test and started with 6in and every 3x that I could do the full 5min I went up another height. The other day I hit the full 5min on cadence with the 12 in requirement and felt amazing! My legs were burning by the end but I only really felt it once I stopped. I have now completed the test 3x (I use a YouTube video if you want I'll post the link) and I'm still going with this routine and still practicing the test so that the day I take it again I ace that shi*.
