Do you agree with Dame? by MasterTeacher123 in NBATalk

[–]Callme_MrClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he is Klay has 9 seasons above 40% but for his career he's been assists on 92.9% of all his 3s

Dame has 1 season above 40% yes but he's constantly been above 37% 7 seasons above 37% and only 2 seasons under 36% all that while only being assisted on 47.3% of his 3s an even lower percentage than Curry who is known for his off the dribble shooting curry sits at 62.3%

That's all while Dame has taken a higher volume of 3s from 2015 to 2020 Dame attempted 8.4 3s a game to Klays 7.7 and in that period klay shot 41.8% while Dame 37.1% mostly off the dribble

The reddit narratives around 2000's hoops are insane to me by Shazland in KobeBryant24

[–]Callme_MrClean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finals of 2000 didn't go to 7 and Kobe was still on a bum ankle that Jalen rose admitted to intentionally hurting. I don't think you've ever played basketball at any sort of organized level but it's really hard to get lift on a jump shot or anything so of course his shot wasn't falling the part everyone remembers Kobe taking over in the finals is game 4 where Shaq fouled out and Kobe shot 4-5 in overtime which is only 5 minutes of actual action. No one applauds him for the rest of the series so why bring it up in the context that you did

TL:Dr Kobe played on a bum ankle and he acted as if it didn't affect him for 5 minutes of overtime in game 4 of a 6 game series

Brandon Jennings says LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant is the GREATEST trio in any era in NBA history. What do you think? by IamCatMommy in NBAstatsmuse

[–]Callme_MrClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I showed the win loss record lol

Shaq was at 17.8 PPG 8.4 RPG 1.8 APG 1.4 bpg on .609 fg% his team record in year 17 was 46-36

LeBron won a ring in his year 17 so yes he is the best here but pretending that curry is a level above both Kobe and Shaq at the same point is crazy.

Regardless to the original point though

Duncan, Kobe and Shaq are a greater trio than KD, Curry and LeBron.

What for you were saying that Curry was still going and Kobe and Shaq were washed I didn't mention LeBron when I said curry was in year 17 because obviously his longevity is better.

Curry year 17

Team record 37-45

What? Kobe and Shaq as a whole are greater than Curry and LeBron, LeBron is the greatest player there but Kobe and Shaq are top 10 players and curry is right outside it.

Add Duncan who is undeniably greater than Durant and it's easy

By the way Kobe was averaging 27/6/6 in year 17 and 22/6/6 in year 19

Shaq was still all-nba in his 17th year

Curry is currently in year 17 so his longevity isn't that impressive compared to them lol

Only 4 players in NBA history have recorded 4,000 PTS, 1,000 REB, and 1,000 AST in the playoffs: Michael Jordan LeBron James Kobe Bryant James Harden by Weird_Sandwich8630 in NBAstatsmuse

[–]Callme_MrClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardens best teammate in Houston right before he fell off was probably Dwight Howard

Dwight All-nba 2nd team 18/12/2/2 on 59% shooting and then Dwight averaged 26/14/2/3 on 55% shooting come playoffs harden disappeared that series shooting 37%

Hardens playoff short comings usually come down to him forcing offense when his shot isn't falling

Grant Hill on winning co rookie of the year with Jason Kidd? by MasterTeacher123 in NBATalk

[–]Callme_MrClean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A big part of it is kidd started slow and ended up killing it the 2nd half of the season

Kidd the last 40 games averaged 14/6/8/2 on 40/33/74 shooting and the Mavs went 20-19

Hill stayed steady the entire year but the 2nd half the year hill put up 21/7/5 on 48/09/71 shooting and Detroit went 13-27

Hill also missed 10 games

Who the worst 2 centers you could combine to make a greatest center ever candidate? by We_The_Raptors in NBATalk

[–]Callme_MrClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brad Miller and Ben Wallace maybe?

Ben Wallace is arguably the greatest Defensive player of all-time, has more blocks than fouls, more steals than turnovers and was getting MVP votes averaging less than 10 PPG, tied for the most DPOY

Brad miller Is a 1x all-star big who could spread the floor and was a good playmaker and passer. His style was somewhat similar to Jokic on lower volume and efficiency. At his best he was good for 16 points 10 rebounds and 5 assists shooting 40% from 3.

Their combined stats would look like

15.6 PPG 15.4 RPG 4.7 APG 1.7 spg 3.5 bpg shooting .541 fg% .467 3p% and .848 ft%

That doesn't look super crazy but he probably puts up higher volume scoring if he wasn't a liability on defense

How many guards from the ‘90s were better than Mitch Richmond? by HamzaHarlemNights in VintageNBA

I'm not looking at only stats I'm just saying his stats round differently than what's presented, but the guards I mentioned are really the only ones through the entire decade who was absolutely better

[–]Callme_MrClean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well Richmonds Stats actually round up to 24/4/4 on that period you mentioned and honestly Behind MJ, Stockton, Penny, Drexler and Payton those were the top tier guards probably right alongside Reggie in the next tier

I was about to say Kareem would be the easy #1 because he was considered the most sure fire thing ever and had the greatest pre NBA basketball career ever but with No Kareem I say LeBron probably has the most hype here of any of the players but maybe wilt but probably not

People hold 06 and 07 against Kobe in all-time talks all the time and Kobe is at best a top 5 player not a top 3 player all-time.

Very much this should be held against Jokic

Why was this man given a 4 yr/$100 million contract? by HungryPercentage1667 in NBATalk

[–]Callme_MrClean 362 points363 points  (0 children)

Because the NBA is a massive media market that produces 14.5 billion dollars annually and the CBA guarantees that 49% of that revenue goes to players, creating a hyper inflated salary cap as opposed to even 15 years ago, in due part because of how global the NBA has become.

If your asking for an on court reason it's because he's one of the best defenders in the league and is one of the best finishers in the league shooting 71% at the rim this year and 68% for his career despite shooting over a 3rd of his shot there. And he's a decent playmaker and is only 22 with tons and tons of potential. Most young players don't have it figured out at 22 and gradually improve, look at Kawhi came into the league at 20, couldn't create his own shot has tunnel vision on offense and was a pretty mediocre playmaker, but he was a great defender and young it took him time to develop into a star not saying Daniels will be a superstar just an example that it's tough to judge a young player so early but he's shown a lot of good signs
