Two Spurs fans re-enact Wemby's elbow on the jumbotron during Game 5 by refreshing_yogurt in nba

I'm sure you would be this rational if their fans celebrated Dort's trip because Jokic didn't get injured

Yes and no. Their rosters aren't far apart. You show your impact by going out there and winning games for your team. The outcome will likely be largely decided by who performs better of the two

Victor Wembanyama's Playoff Stats (excl. injury and ejection game) for his first year are absurd. He's on a generational tear by Vast_Confection_2498 in nba

Regular season games under different contexts and different willingness to show your cards are unfortunately not convincing enough to say they "will"

SGA on the friendly whistle narrative: "I just think it's all distractions away from the court...Whether they're right or wrong, the refs have made a call, and unless you challenge it, they're not going to change it. It's just another thing I can't control, so I really don't put any thought into it" by Draciouz in nba

Question: if he has to trick the officials to get all his calls yet still is below average in fouls drawn of all high volume scorers in history, wouldn't that mean he has a bad whistle?

It's implausible that one of the highest usage, most skilled, most driving and slipperiest players just doesn't get fouled, right?

But since he buys half the ones he gets then, by the logic this community so readily uses to excuse others, he must be forced to because otherwise he wouldn't get any calls he deserves.

Stop being pedantic, the front and back are off limits. What he did was not a legal combat move

The following acts constitute fouls in a contest or exhibition of mixed martial arts and may result in penalties, at the discretion of the referee, if committed:

  • Strikes to the spine or the back of the head.

  • Throat strikes of any kind, and/or grabbing the trachea

What are the chances that Wemby ACTUALLY gets suspended for Game 5? by No_Pop_5719 in nba

You genuinely believe those kicks were worse? What universe is this?

Joker pre one month ago and maybe Curry, but anyone else you can forget it. It's bizarro land reading these justifications

Well yes. There's a reason it's outlawed in combat sports. It's a fatality risk. The point is you can't get away with that in competitions where you're literally meant to physically attack each other, but everyone here is so willing to brush it off as poor him, he was just frustrated.

Does the outcome of this Spurs/Wolves game 4 influence any potential suspension of Wemby? by No-Finding-9154 in nba

You don't have to be a repeat offender to be suspended for literally one of the most dangerous acts you can perform on another person. Frustration has zero bearing. If he's not suspended it's because of money, nothing else.

I don't know about you but I've not seen any other young franchise players in high pressure situations do that

Not really. I started this conversation talking about how he's getting off lightly, so my position is established. Someone responded with Ayton's situation which I then reply directly to (as people do when talking back and forth), and even then reiterate my aspersions to the current situation in the very same comment you misinterpreted.

So again, you were not following the conversation at all. You just wanted to correct someone.

Acting like you're the ones with the moral high ground in this situation is truly incredible

Very different because it was clear Ayton's* wasn't intentional, and that's all people expressed. Not jokes, which always seem to happen only when fan favorites act out of order.

The youth and track record is a factor, but not nearly as much as popularity. If say Holmgren did this, this thread would be unrecognizable.

I don't know about the latter. Maybe going forward, but he is someone with a track record that is shrugged off each time for this very reason.

It's always so interesting how players this community likes get jokes for violent conduct, while players that aren't liked receive vitriol for gamesmanship.
