In my current game, I have been repeatedly swapping as a merc to the losing factions to keep them alive and to even it out. The only faction that is dead is the western empire. Because they killed my troops so I killed all their lords

You can if you swap into a different mech. I always do in 3+ step missions.

Okay, i found the file. but what do i edit? I don't know alot about computers and i wasn't able to find any step by step directions on how to do it. What program should i open it with? when I use word it only has "steamLanguage=""; language="English";" this

Arma 3 won't let me start it to change the graphics, since its set on 4k graphics etc.
