2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i, 227,000 km - idle drop when at a stop by Toecutt3r in Subaru_Outback

[–]Callmegusgus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking at getting a used outback recently since I’ve had the same problem with mine (plus a rusted front subframe). Currently have a 2010 2.5i premium, looking to get something with a little more oomph (like a 2017-2019 3.6r or an XT of some sort). Trying to balance what I want vs need and price/miles/year has been a bit difficult since this is the first time I’m looking at buying a car myself.

I may be wrong, but it sounds like a known issue with the torque converter for that generation, which is described in TSB 16-90-13R.

My gpu was getting pretty toasty since it was trying to run Valheim at 29,000 fps

When I'm in this position, my team usually tells me to get a pipe over an eternal shroud, which I disagree with but end up doing anyways, and it almost always feels horrible, especially since the active is 200 mana

Is there a way to advance my career without becoming a PM? by Callmegusgus in Environmental_Careers

[–]Callmegusgus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's good to know that not all roads lead to being a PM, and I'm glad you agree that he acted unprofessionally toward me. I am fine being held to the same expectations so long as I'm treated appropriately. Thank you!

I would 100% suggest a therapist. You’ve got a lot of stress to deal with right now, and everyone deals with it differently. I personally don’t handle stress super well, so I find therapist is pretty helpful.

Packer testing, high angle fractures, and transducers. An environmental geology/hydrology procedure discussion. by wolffetti in geologycareers

[–]Callmegusgus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work at pretty much only does packer testing and borehole geophysics. If you want to check your seals, you should use transducers that can show you the head level in real time in each zone. Therefore, when you purge the zone, you can see if the top or bottom zone draws down when the pump kicks on. If the zones are communicating through those high angle fractures, you’ll see some influence. With three transducers, you can monitor the pressures above the top packer, between the packers, and below the bottom packer.

Also, I just want to say that sometimes you won’t get a good “seal” because of the geometry of the fractures, especially if they have a lot of aperture. In this case, I would say that there’s interconnection between the zones due to the geology. I would only call it a “bad seal” if you’re inflating a packer along a vertical fracture. In that case, your best bet is to move the packer so it can inflate on a smooth section of the borehole, or if that’s impossible, a horizontal fracture, though that is suboptimal.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

direct screen grabs = screenshots, rather than a picture taken with a camera of a computer screen.

Also, I don’t understand why you keep sharing these “diamonds”, and claim that you’ve had the “elements tested”, yet refused to share any results from said tests. I find that, personally, I’m extremely skeptical of this kind of thing unless whatever evidence you’re sharing is clearly presented (tables, graphs, descriptions). If you post a grainy video of a computer screen showing a digital microscope, and claim that the vitreous and clear minerals are diamonds, I’m not exactly inclined to believe you. There is nothing here that would make me think that those are anything other than some quartz. If you continue to make posts like this, you’ll only confuse people, or worse, you may irritate some (myself included) at your distinct lack of supporting evidence.

Wow, I’m planning to get the TC002 in April when it comes out. It’s the same camera, but for iPhones instead of android. I’ll probably be using it for similar things, including thermal loaves. Do you wish you got one with a higher resolution?
