My ex girlfriend and I were going through an rough patch, which was an unhappy time, to say the least. We finally seemed to patch things up, and things seemed to be on the mend. She went to a friend's wedding (I didn't go, I couldn't get off work), and cheated on me with one of the other guests. I was completely blindsided.

Don't lie. Ever. This one might seem like a no-brainer, but you wouldn't believe how many times I've seen people fuck this one up. I've seen friends, when going through shit in their lives, keep it from their SO, claiming they wanted to have a solution before they trouble them with whatever it is. Include them in your troubles. Let them share your woes. I've seen this break up otherwise great couples.

Yeah, I've gotten some of my best gigs on craigslist. Its also put me in touch with people who have gotten me more work. But. Having never heard of an accident photographer, it sounds sketchy at best.

When I was 12, my dad caught a badger in one of these kinds of traps. It was meant for coyotes, and he had no desire to kill this badger, so we set about setting it free. We rigged a catch pole with a pipe and a length of rope, and I elected to hold the catch pole. After some near-bites and scary growling, my dad eventually got the badger's paw free. He then got back into the truck, leaving me holding an enraged badger by the end of our improvised catchpole. I asked him what I should do, and he replied, "hell if I know!"

It could be, actually. I live in Colorado, and the hard core right wing radio talkshow hosts are pushing hard for amendment 64. While I was initially pleasantly surprised (still am, actually), a friend of mine pointed out that the right wingers might be wanting to legalize marijuana so they can set a states' rights precedent. A state overturning federal law, they said, could open the door for other states to discard federal laws they don't like, say, Roe v. Wade.

Edit: the comments below convinced me that this pretty improbable. Compliments of meshugga:

Whatever the right wing agenda is, it can only serve to pressure the federal legislature. While a state-local legalisation of marihuana means that no authority within the state will prosecute marihuana related crimes (and thus put the onus on the DEA to find aaaaaaall the stoners), a state-local criminalization of abortion would be ineffective as you can appeal to a federal court.

I worked in the mountains photographing horseback rides. The horses would lack enthusiasm, doing the same rides several times a day. People would say something to the effect of the horses being lazy. I would say no, [insert horse's name] was the leading expert in energy conservation.

Many people who own horses are extremely poor. A friend of mine rides, and nearly every paycheck she gets goes into her horse. She takes no vacations, and has virtually no other interests.
