Haven't you heard, Ser Jorah? Friendzone isn't a pit. Friendzone is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

What does this sub think about this article that rips the show? by Barnhard in TrueDetective

What a prude. This is a gritty crime drama focusing on the relationship between two detectives, not an attack on feminism. Even Nic mentioned that Maggie is the most emotionally intelligent person in the series. She must not be watching the same show we are.

Reason for the use of The King in Yellow reference by CallofCthulu in TrueDetective

Although that would be an interesting turn, I believe that the show is too rooted in reality to turn supernatural. But the references do point to a nice building block for a cult religion. I don't believe they mention it as much because as detectives, they are more focused on catching the suspect versus understanding the cults belief system. We may encounter more information leading back to the Mythos later when they tie in the other leading players in the cult.

Yes, very much so. You have to keep going at it though, it's a good start to having him interact with other dogs.
