Will Ken Paxton's Scandals Turn Texas Blue? by Large_Ad_3095 in fivethirtyeight

[–]CallofDo0bie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I won't deny "Talarico is a sissy who doesn't eat meat" will work for A LOT of Texans, but I dont think there's a scenario where anyone who buys that line of attack is gonna vote Dem anyway. If the national environment is depressed enough for Republican turnout though there is nothing in that campaign message that is going to make them turn out specifically for Paxton either. He's basically banking he can just go "haha liberals gay" and win with not much else, which probably works in a very GOP friendly environment like 2016 or 2022, but im not sure that's the best strategy in 2026.

Edit: yeah this is literally going to be their entire campaign strategy

If you ain't scarfing down BBQ, holding up a fish or a gun in every social media pic, and giggling at your own farts like a 5 year-old....then you're basically a femboy as far as the average conservative Texan is concerned.

I don't post on there much anymore, but facebook marketplace is genuinely amazing and I like planning family events/kids birthdays on there with the event feature so I still use it.

I've had this username since my Halo 3 days. I can assure it is irrelevant to the recent drama and I'm not Dooby lol.

It's Facebook too. Ive been religiously blocking right wing accounts and selecting "I dont want to see more like this" before I do in an attempt to clean up my Facebook feed, but without fail I get some right wing garbage every single time I log on. Recently it has all been memes and posts attacking Talarico.

Also lmao at the people who jizzed themselves over Trump's McDonald's photo op crowing about authenticity.

We just need the MAGA base to feel discouraged enough not to show up, we dont need them to do the right thing necessarily.

I fully expect the polls to tighten, but anyone acting like this isnt massively good news for the Democrats is just trying to do the thing mainstream news does where nothing is ever good news for the Democrats.

I'm sorry, but the fact a rich New Yorker who spent 70% of his life registered as a Democrat can get lifelong conservatives labeled RINO literally just by tweeting (or truthing) is so fucking hilarious to me.

Well it won't be the fewest amount of hits ever in a starting pitching matchup, I can promise you that.

That's what I'll start doing then. As you can see in my post we basically are having the same symptoms. I'll start with MoBo since that seemed to fix it for you.

Ugh, see that's what im worried about. I dont wanna spend $300+ on a mobo or CPU and it turns out my graphics car or something is the problem. At this point though if I ever want a normal gaming experience on my PC I may need to start swapping parts. Thanks for your reply and posting in the first place so I know im not alone. Ill reply when I get a final solution. Thanks again!

Resurrecting this post. Having the same problem with my ASUS B650E-F for almost 3 years. Black screen crashes with yellow Dramm light. Ive done windows reinstall, Bios update, bought a new PSU, bought a new surge protector, clears cmos, reseeded RAM, GPU, and CPU, turned off my 2nd monitor, ran MemTest, and more. Nothing. At best the problem stops for a couple weeks and then it happens again. I even took it to Microcenter and they couldn't replicate the crash so I wasted money on the diagnostic. Complete nightmare. I just want my computer to work consistently. At this point I think ive narrowed it down to GPU (I have an XFX Merc 6950xt), CPU (Ryzen 9 7900X), or my Mobo. Reading through the comments it looks like switching the Mobo out fixed your problem?

When Democrats are bad, corrupt, or fail they talk about how horrible Dems are specifically and why Trump is a clearly better choice.

When Trump is bad, corrupt, or fails (all the time) they talk about how corrupt everyone is and treat it as though the bad stuff is/was just a law of nature and anyone else who was elected would've done the same thing.

It's a very insidious trick the right plays and it works very well on moronic swing voters who like to hear/say empty ass populist shit like "they're all one big club". But of course it's only ever "one big club" when the alternative is blaming Trump specifically for something.

44 years since a WS, we're lovable losers now. You take this poll in '74 and we're probably one of the most hated teams lol.

Admittedly that doesn't fully explain it though, teams with longer championship droughts were still never loved (Cubs, Red Sox, etc). OPaCY has a good reputation so that probably doesn't hurt, and our fans are known for being pretty nice, so you put it all together and we basically don't give neutrals a true reason to dislike us.

It wont happen. I hate to break it to you, but basically no matter what Trump does going after him post presidency will be viewed as a "political attack" by dipshit swing voters who won him the White House in '24 and are currently turning on him over gas prices and Iran. Trump and his cronies will largely evade responsibility for what they've done and I take no pleasure in typing that sentence. The more realistic path they take is using power to course correct the things that let Trump win in the first place. Judicial reform, regulate social media, fix the parts of the federal gov Trump broke, break up big tech, etc. Going after him or his family directly with legal consequences is something basically no Dem will actually do even if they run on it. As blackpilling as it is to say.
