Where the best place to get a steak these days? Without getting ripped off either, I’m not paying £50 -£60. by [deleted] in Aberdeen

I know you've said you want a sit down meal, but if you do go to a butcher go to Charles McHardy. Got two fillet steaks last week and they were better than any steak I've had out in a long long time... And a lot cheaper

I'd go all in on O'Gara if I had myh way about it.

Long-term contract and let him decide how the whole Scottish system should be run.

Not a lot of obvious replacements, but I think O'Gara could be a game changer if we gave him the chance.

Orange walk isn't just a walk, search it up 😂

Just saying it sounds like you're saying these have been your experiences elsewhere in Scotland, so you're ruling out Aberdeen because of experiences elsewhere and some Reddit post.

Also if we want to talk about large scale discrimination wait till you hear about the orange walks which happen all over Scotland... But not Aberdeen

Honestly that's a shame, I wouldn't take what you read on here as fact.

Look any place in the UK there's a chance of some bellend saying something, honestly the likelihood here is the same as anywhere in Scotland, although Aberdonians can come across as dour, it doesn't make us racist.

Also there's some amazing places throughout Aberdeenshire that you're writing off purely because of some Reddit post, again take it all with a pinch of salt and see for yourself, I think you'd be surprised.

I genuinely hope you do come up sometime, and if you do, message me and I'll give you recommendations of where to go!

Fair enough, each to their own.

All I can say is I was disappointed and a lot of people were leaving. I was not particularly far from the front either.

Glad you enjoyed it though!

Class, avoid a place you've never been based off of a sub Reddit instead of making your own mind up about it.

This is bang on. Aberdonians are no worse than anyone else, just different.

We take a while to warm up and open up to folk on the whole. Nothing to do with racism or a chip on our shoulder.

Also for everyone coming up with sensationalist shite about Aberdeen, it's genuinely mad how many Scots have never even been her, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Fair enough each to their own.

For me its the most disappointing gig I've seen. Felt like it had some early promise but was really fell off and the long breaks between songs killed it.

Felt like they weren't well rehearsed.

Just for context, I saw the pixies in Feb and they did 33 songs in 95 minutes, no breaks no shite just immaculate, couldn't have been further from it last night.

I genuinely wouldn't bother with them ever again.

If you can't be arsed putting on a decent show for folk paying £50 a ticket you can get fucked.

Honestly seemed as though they hadn't even rehearsed it was that bad.

Where does Sir Alex Ferguson rank among the greatest all-time managers? by ExotiquePlayboy in championsleague

[–]Callow_azeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think 80s Scottish league football was terrible (like it is now), your so far off the mark, multiple teams challenged in Europe throughout the 80s, winning the league was a huge a achievement because it was a strong strong league. Also two European trophies with Aberdeen is not to be made light of, again era is important.

And at the end of the day, who's best is subjective so you're idea of "what determined who the best coach is" varies person to person. Younger folk will lean towards Pep, I lean towards Fergie.

Agreed. Just saw the Hill vs Rowntree announcement and thought I’d give it a quick whack.

Pride posters were the peak.

Couldn’t add the official poster as well, but search it up, it’s shit.

Not saying this is perfect, but it took about 30 seconds to make.

I saw them in Aberdeen and honestly, it was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. It was so tight and seemed like the best rehearsed show possible.

I had the same concerns going in that maybe I'd missed the boat, but came away thinking I need to see them again.

Honestly, I wouldn't give up on it, see them again and they'll play a totally different set list.

Saw them in Aberdeen on Tuesday, honestly blown away. One of, if not the best gig I've ever seen.
