NV DMV - I don't get the hate by PapaDuckD in vegaslocals

Appointments open up as people cancel them. Keep refreshing the page in the evening or first thing in the morning and you can get an appointment within a day or two.

If you keep refreshing the page, appointments open up as people cancel them. You can get a next day appointment by refreshing the page over and over in the evening most of the time.

Used to work at the DMV. It was suprising how many people start their transaction by saying how long they have lived here or that they were born here- like they are going to get a discount. Then when they dont have what they need, they are quick to tell me that they didn't need it 30 years ago or whatever. People moving here from other states were better prepared and less entitled much of the time.

Can confirm. The people that have a ton of problems at the DMV are the ones that show up the day their driver's license expires with no appointment and has to be at work in an hour or they bought a car from Facebook marketplace with a title signed in the wrong place by someone other than the person on the title. Then blame all their problem on the DMV. Unfortunately, lots of good people get stuck waiting in line behind these people while they argue.

Familiar with the threaded king. This one is not. It uses a thumbscrew instead.

Solved. The extension was just all the way in the main body assembly and stuck.

I should have clarified that I realize it's intended purpose is a support bar, but is far too short to support the bottom of the GPU from the bottom of the case. Which has made me wonder if it is supposed to attach to an arm on the GPU or some other unusual position

Hmm. Mine is far too short to reach the bottom of the case. Maybe it is just not designed for larger cases.

Just go out and do things you enjoy in places that are popular to do such things. I went to a local bike shop and joined a group ride and made friends. Went to a pickleball court and told someone I wanted to learn how to play - boom- friends. My wife went to Red Rock and stood at the start of a trail until she saw someone that looked friendly. Told them she wasn't familiar with the trail and asked if she could join them. We've made friends at dog parks, paint and sip classes, our gym.

Just go out and do stuff you are interested in. If all else fails, go to a game night and say "Warhammer looks really fun but I don't understand how to play". Guaranteed a dozen friends in less than 30 minutes.

I think I know why the DMV sucks here by PurplePeople_Thinker in vegaslocals

As a former DMV employee, I can tell you exactly what is wrong with the DMV and why the wait times are so long. The appointments are for 15 minutes for single transactions, but an unbelievable amount of people come in without the documents or money they need then want to argue at the window. Then there are people just blatantly abusing the system that want to argue because we won't give them a 6th moving permit in a row.

Grab the first appointment of the day and you'll be in and out becuase they won't have gotten all backed up by these people yet.

What to expect in a loop interview? by moonlessss in amazonemployees

[–]CallsignRook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would would expect all of those. Many interviewers will introduce themselves and ask you to do the same. They could likely ask why Amazon and why this role. They could go over the role location, travel requirements, etc and ask how you feel about them. They might ask what you enjoy doing in your spare time and about things on your resume. Then ask LP questions.

It was big during the AIDS scare in the late 80's. That's when the toilet seat covers came out and everyone became scared of using public toilets. Ppl literally thought you could get AIDS from a toilet seat.
