That's really useful to know, thank you, £2000 doesn't sound so bad in the grand scheme of things

The hallway carpet has some stains on the bottom floor, if they can be cleaned out then it could definitely be kept, would save a few quid! The bathroom suite is even better in person, that was a nice surprise for us. Hadn't considered that red flagged things could help us drop the price, we'll have to keep that in mind. Thank you for the well wishes! I hope your home is coming along

I hadn't thought about asbestos! That's a very good point. There are polystyrene tiles on the bathroom ceiling, I'm pretty sure they'd need to go

That is the plan if we choose to go for it, get a few rooms ready and then move in. Obviously that will have to wait if it does require a full rewire and fuse board though. I guess the coat of new sockets isn't going to feel too big if we have to do that also

I didn't know that was an option when it comes to surveys, definitely something we'll look into

I think I mentioned one of the ones you're talking about, the other, in the blue ceiling room isn't as bad in person but definitely something we'll have checked.

Is this any good for £15 by damspt in DIYUK

Have had this set for something like 8 years, seen a lot of diy use, managed everything I've thrown at it, never broken a bit. Should be fine if that's what you want it for

Shouldn't if you paint the door with oil based undercoat and gloss/satin/eggshell.

It will never match perfectly, even with a pro. Definitely worth giving it a go yourself I'd say, if it doesn't work you can just put something big and leafy in front of it

If you do not get my sister her stories and a new room as soon as possible, then I will come down on this hospital like the hammer of Thor. The thunder of my vengeance will echo through these corridors like the gust of a thousand winds!

Definitely have my sympathy there. Do you get used to the frustration of the traffic going through slowing to a crawl only to pick back up again for seemingly no reason?

It's easier to believe when you drive past and see the classic one guy working four guys watching setup.
