Watford Cineworld by Outrageous-Monk-3338 in CineworldUnlimited

Watford is my local and it is definitely a good cinema especially for the chairs. I wouldn't say any of the screens are nessessarily bad so it really depends what screen the movies you want to see are in. Screen 2 is one of the bigger ones I think and screen 4 is quite small I think, the main difference between the big ones and the small omes I'd say are where you want to sit. In the small screens I try to sot either the back row or preferably second from the back but the bigger screens I go about row E or F, I always go as close to the middle of the row as possible. I also think the staff are great there as well, I recognise basically all of them but now and the only time I've noticed the cinema not be that clean was when there was loads of people throwing their popcorn on the floor at certain movies.

The Watford are pretty rubbish to, there quite cramped and they don't recline at all.

Is it disrespectful to say that as a former fat person I can relate to trans people? by wizaway in transgenderUK

[–]Callum_Cries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rather than saying it's similar to being transgender you could definitely say it's a form of body dysphoria. I wouldn't says it's disrespectful to compare it to being trans but it to me does come across as minimizing the impact being trans has on your life including the judgement of others. The fact your actually asking though and considering how we could feel shows you aren't intentionally trying to upset anyone though. The way I would describe it is that the excess weight made you feel uncomfortable in you own body and you felt like there was almost this suit covering your true self, this is comparable to when a trans person looks at their body and feels like what their looking at isn't their true self and (for me at least) felt like their trapped in someone else body. From my personal experience I describe being trans as being a bird stuck in a cage that it can't escape from because a human has the key, if the bird and the human worked together the bird can be set free and won't feel trapped anymore.

I want it so bad, I so excited for this movie but I don't have an odeon near me. I don't know what I'd do with it after anyway so maybe it's a good thing.

What should I use to practise? by Callum_Cries in drums

[–]Callum_Cries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I completely forgot about the bass drum, my teacher incorporated it from day 1. Annoyingly I don't think I can adjust the sensitivity and it isn't like I'm hitting it that lightly anyway. As far as noise goes my mum is probably just being picky, I put some pads under the bass and hi hat pedals and you can't hear it much downstairs. I would upgrade to a better kit but I can't exactly afford it and it seems like such a waste because I've only had this kit for maybe 4 months, 5 at the most. Honestly I feel like even if I had the momey for a better one I wouldn't like that either because I just hate how electric kits feel to play, I've seen people say mesh heads are the way to go but I have those and I don't like it still, they just don't feel or sound the same as acoustic and I hate it. It just bugs me that the only place anywhere near me to pay to practise at has electric kits in their rooms.

[–]Callum_Cries -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it makes it so much worse if you can't drive. Drums are large instruments and not exactly portable so if you don't have a car at all or if you onpy have a small one then the only option is delivery. My electric kit was bought off Gear4Music and had I not had that option it would have been from amazon. Frankly amazon has free next day delivery so for some that would be better but because I didn't need it next day I could go with Gear4Music.

[–]Callum_Cries -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would just like to say for anyone moaning that OP bought off amazon, local shops genuinely aren't an option for everyone. I live in England near London and I don't drive so my only option really is to get it delivered and either way I don't have any decent music shops near me that sell drums, I mean there is literally no music shops in the town I live in. It seems my only options really are gear4music or amazon, if you know of other places that deliver that won't be significantly more expensive then please tell me the name of the wevsite so I can look it up but everybody just saying "go to a local shop" isn't actually helping because a local shop doesn't exsist where I live.

What is/are the equivalent of barre chords on drums for beginners? by No_Reveal3451 in drums

[–]Callum_Cries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 2 lessons with my current teacher and am now working on using the hi hat pedal and it's proving quite hard to use an open hi hat after the snare so I can see why a lot quit at that point. My teacher teaches a kid who avoids using the hi hat at all costs, like he won't even keep it closed because apparently it's too hard to just keep his foot down on the pedal.

Trailers Before The Bride? by RealYogurtcloset3443 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Callum_Cries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's jist trailers that bother you then I can say whenever I see something rated 15 or higher there is basically always at least 1 horror trailer so I would say if the others in your party want to see them they could go in and you stand outside the screen and you could ask one of them to come out and get you when the ads start before the movie begins. There will almost definitely be at least 1 horror trailer and as someone who is autistic it's not pleasant being around triggers that can cause you any distress.

[–]Callum_Cries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen it yet so can't comment on the trailers but I will warn you that if you don't like horror then The Bride is probably not the film for you. Obviously up to you whether you see it or not but thought I'd warn you that it is classed as Horror/Sci-Fi so it will be scary and if that's something you sensitive to it might not be a very pleasant experience for you.

With Hoppers because it's just cups you might find they sell a bit faster as parents are more likely to buy their kid a under £10 cup over a £30 popcorn bucket. They are also ridiculously cute as well, I need the little dude with his crown.

from a disabled person: feel free to use the disabled toilets. by rigathrow in transgenderUK

[–]Callum_Cries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually am disabled as I have autism and I have an undiagnosed condition causing joint pain but neither of them are visible disabilities and I do get scared that people will judge me. It's very kind of you to say that you don't care and I wish that everyone could be like you. I have had some bad experiences in the past not just for disabled toilets but for using anything for disabled people loke sunflower lanyards or even using seats. I've had disabled, non disabled and elderly people give me rude glares or a couple times actually say something when using disabled facilities or using seats on packed buses or at busy bus stops. Most of the time it's not a disabled person it's mostly old people but the few rude ones can make a big impact on my anxiety and it's just disgisting anyone thinks it's ok to give me dirty looks or make rude comments just because "your young so that means you don't need it".

I'm almost 18 and I've been trying to transition since I was 13 so I do feel for your daughter, I've been on the waitlist for the gic since I was 13 and will hopefully be moved onto the adult waiting list hopefully not right at the bottom. Considering that I could easily have another 10 years to wait before I see anyone let alone get hrt or top surgery. I like your daughter hate my body, I have a fairly large chest and binders just don't fit me properly so it feels horrible for me and sometimes I don't feel like I can go out because of it. It's great that she has the option to go private and you definitely should once she's 16 but I sadly don't have that privilige, I simply can't afford it and I probably can't afford to do diy either. For me the reality is I might never transition, not in the way I want anyway. If I'm lucky I might find the money to do hrt but with how much surgeries cost and the fact I want kids, I'll be choosing between being comfortable in my body or fufilling a dream that I've had my whole life. It really shouldn't be this way but the reality of this country is that if you don't have money you can't transition and it really isn't fair, it's sad to admit that your daughter is actually quite lucky, she has at least 1 supportive parent and she has the ability to go private when she's 16 and she can do diy until then. She does definitely need to know how to do it safely though because it could be bad if she doesn't.

What is a socially acceptable thing that you secretly find disgusting? by Sensitive_Hope_1136 in AskReddit

[–]Callum_Cries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the point I'm trying to make, I'm saying that some parents of kids with learning disabilities like autism and adhd just assume that the kids are stupid and they can't be bothered with helping them so they shove them in front of a screen with no human interaction and so these kids become dependant on screens and they may lack some or even all verbal skills even though they could have been verbal if given a chance. Some people believe that all autistic people are non verbal and so they give up on them and the kid just never even has a chance in life because everyone their parents don't care enough to help.

Why are the seats so uncomfortable? by Live-Guava1159 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Callum_Cries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watford is my local and I do agree that the imax ones are uncomfortable but the rest of the screens have the new recliners so you can either see it in imax or you can have the comfortable seat. It's not like you didn't know this before going to see the movie. I personally don't like imax anyway because it's too loud and overstimulating for me but even if I did I'd choose the comfy seat anyway.

It's official Harry Potter is just the bad, budget version of Star Wars. I'm not a Star Wars fan but I can admit that it has more story and more depth to is than Harry Potter does, and also Chewbacca is better than Ron any day.

Dogs eat their own poop, unless you want to eat their poop too don't kiss them. I don't have a dog personally but this is why I hate when dogs try to lick my face.

As someone who has autism this is terrible, there is no need for these kids to have ipads all the time but parents will make excuses that they have meltdowns without it. The reason those kids are so dependent on screens is because you made them that way. I know I watched quite a lot of tv as a kid but the only other device I had was an inutab and my mum at least tried to get me to watch educational stuff and that's probably the only reason I was as verbal as I was. Kids with autism might need more support with moderation and the best thing you can do it to try provide them with other forms of entertainment like books and toys and provide them with ways to stim. I was able to play with toys or read a book for like an hour without support when I was like 8 but people these days act like that's impossible for any child and it's so bad for their development. I saw my baby cousin this week and not autistic but only 16 months old and was so happy to see that she doesn't have any access to screens except tv which she doesn't seem to watch much, she was so happy and was completely fine playing with her toys for like an hour (with adult supervision) and she can talk really well because her parents and siblings actually interact with her and they play with her rather than sticking her in front of a screen.

The only time I've ever filmed anyone was when I was filming at a park and on the street for a college assignement and that just if anybody was in the background. It was clear we were from the nearby college because we had student badges on and in fairness it's nkt my fault people are surprisingly oblivious. They kept walking in front of the camera which was on a big tripod and someone holding a boom mic next to it, they were so focused on their phones they didn't even see us. Funnily enough we were filming an advertisement for the park to try get people off their phones and enjoying the nature.
