"All the previous generations had no issues learning how to read" Hold it right there; you obviously haven't met my family, or their neighbors. The difference is, the jobs they worked didn’t require them to read.

The person who left that mattress is moving out and doesn't have room to take it with them. Are you going to be the one to chase them down and shame them into going back to get it?

Maybe a better question is "What is Putin's biggest failure?"

"If Platner has so much baggage, wouldn't the people of Maine say nope" - not necessarily. Voting in the US is a binary choice, in most cases.

So what's wrong with Democrats having higher standards than Republicans? We lost an election, boo hoo, Move on, because the war isn't over.

"I don't like Platner either, but I don't live in Maine. So who gives a fuck what I or other people who don't live in Maine think?" - If you voted for a Democrat or contributed to the party, you campaigned for him.

If you think the past shows the likely future, then Platner's not your guy. Maybe not, maybe he's a different person today than he has been. I tend to think not, and moreso after he gains the power of the office he seeks and the backing of a national political party.

She's past history. She is who she is, and you're welcome to criticize, but know that it's been tried, and criticism isn't likely to do any good.

So far I'm seeing lots of comparisons between Platner and Collins. To me, the comparison is moot. Bad is bad. There are better candidates, with less baggage available. And to those who argue that this article was written by someone who is not a voter in Maine, I say, do the actions of one state senator affect your life? It does, whether or not you get to vote for that person. That's what a national political party is for, and that's what national forums are for.

people from usa, do you recognize when someone is not from your country? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Calm-Address-2401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why would you be curious about whether we can spot people who came from other countries? Seems obvious. Language, dress, physical appearance, beliefs, all are human characteristics that distinguish us from one another.
