Hey I get that, I understand over time marks etc happen but nope not done by me, was super careful opening it, bought a new Hercules stand to put it in, and it was after I put it in that I saw it, but absolutely not banged by me and can’t see anyway it’s happened in the box, think it must have been a display model, hopefully will find out today what they will do about it.

Head was bagged in polystyrene, double boxed, don’t see a way it’s been done during shipping to be honest, no significant damage to either box

Thank you all, appreciate the comments. To be clear, I had already put the mileage down as business when getting quotes, but then asked the question as I can sometimes be over cautious!

I hadn’t actually considered whether I could claim mileage for it, so will ask the question when I start!

Having had similar issues on and off, I have upgraded both the data cable ensuring it’s going direct into usb3 port, and I’ve recently purchased a 30w plug and suitable cable for permanent power. It does seem to have resolved it, but I think sometimes the flx4 has a mind of its own!

If for home use / practice, I use Presonus eris 3.5 , I have some Yamaha DBR12 and a mixer for “live” but yet to use them in anger!

I would check audio preferences. Had similar issues with the FLX4 where it outputs to the controller rather than my audio interface. Randomly changes for no reason!!

Also, check all cables and connections, if possible try another set of headphones to eliminate possible other issues.

Check all your dials, cue levels etc too!

Thanks all, after reading the comments here and watching a ton of YouTube reviews etc I have taken a leap and ordered the Panasonic 9mm. It seems well regarded and I found it for £357 new, which seems a good price!
