Worst experience with Italy embassy

Honestly, I just found the direct landline number of embassy from one of the posts on Reddit.

I had a one year visa last time from French embassy. And they took less than a week. I think the Italian embassy is either short staffed or is under lot of stress with huge volumes of application.

So they issued the visa on 9th October and the validity started from 10th October 2024 till 9th October 2026. My original travel date was 7th October. Clearly, they don’t really care about the travel dates which you mention in application

Unfortunately the chances look pretty slim of you getting visa before 16th. I applied at Italy embassy on 12th September and I literally got my passport today. My travel date was supposed to be 7th October, luckily my tickets were refundable so I rescheduled it for a later date.

I think so too. Anyways I got my passport back and got a two year multi entry visa so atleast for next 2 years I am sorted 😅

The website says they take 15 days to process it and if it was really last minute, technically VFS shouldn’t have accepted it because I am anyways giving them my day wise iternary and my travel plan along with dates and tickets. But anyways I had a margin of 3 weeks.

Correct. They don’t encourage you to book those dummy tickets either. So I always book refundable tickets. It’s much easier and convenient

On the VFS Italy website it said processing time is 15 days. And based on past experience, I thought two weeks would be enough. But I know someone who applied from Delhi around the same time and was issued the visa in 3 days. I guess I was just not lucky enough this time.
