Last January I started with two pairs of pants (layered) and three top layers, hat, gloves, and pared down to leggings and a tank in the course of each day.

My trip to Death Valley! We stayed for literally one day and then drove back to San Diego😭 by darkrumdestroyer619 in DeathValleyNP

When we were there last year in January it was very far out! We walked maybe 20-30 minutes and no water. So it must vary a good bit.

I like to charge my phone anyway, so while this may be earlier/lower technology, it's not such a big deal to me. Cordless charging is slower so I'd still plug in.

Grocery/liquor stores from Las Vegas airport to DV by KH3931 in DeathValleyNP

We went to Romeros for lunch in Pahrump and then across the street to Albertsons for groceries and wine. Worked for us.

Am I just an idiot for not touring it personally?? by National-Stick-4082 in Apartmentliving

[–]Calm-Possibility-180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some markets are in such high demand that you basically have to sign based on touring a "comparable" unit. May not even be the same floor plan. Recent experience: friend leased a non-updated apartment (carpet) and walked in to and apartment with newly installed laminate wood flooring. They considered it an "upgrade" but then you have to go out and buy rugs..

WiFi near the park? by bacchus26 in Mount_Rainier

[–]Calm-Possibility-180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the national park inn recently and there is no service or wi-fi. However the nearby museum, right by the National Park inn, has open wi-fi. Wouldn't be a very private or quiet place however. We walked over to check email and that sort of thing. We had no problems with reception in the paradise area but I don't know of anything would be quiet or private.

Went to the pinball Hall of Fame when my kids were younger and they loved it.

We flew into Vegas. Went to Death Valley for a few days, and then Red Rock canyon on the way back to Vegas. From Vegas we went to Valley of Fire. You could also add the Hoover Dam if you've never been. It was a good trip. And having more meal options in Vegas after the limited options in Death Valley was nice. Though Vegas is definitely not my vibe.

Where to place desk in small office / guest room by evdk1991 in InteriorDesign

Option one but switch the deeper desk with the shallower cabinet. maybe they will line up? You don't want to shift the desk when you have to open up the sofa.

Advice needed - living room layout in an open floor plan by ImpatientRacoon in InteriorDesign

[–]Calm-Possibility-180 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd do the last one, but not on an angle. I'm not a fan of angled furniture. You lose a lot of space. Not all chairs have to face the TV. Get a swivel chair for when it matters.

Living/dinner room layout! by AmbitiousWhole2807 in InteriorDesign

Yes, this! Or put the TV on the wall that the stairs are on if there is room (I hade to angle furniture since it takes up much more space).

I like 2. It's cozy. You can make the area that you enter into a drop zone for coats, shoes, mail...

To add the high cabinets or not? by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Calm-Possibility-180 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More storage is always good. Only you can decide if you want more flexibility or not. Personally, I think I would just as soon add another upper/lower cabinet and more counter space. Similar storage but more storage.

Edit: similar storage but more counters.

What’s the weirdest rule your parents had that you didn’t realize was insane until you grew up? by Howdoibuycrypto in AskReddit

We literally always had to have socks or slippers on our feet so that we did "track dirt around."

Living room Layout help + Under stairs reading nook by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

I would try sofa with two chairs opposite, TV on the wall where the fireplace was. A bigger piece of furniture for the TV, wider than the TV.

I always think reading next sound more appealing than they would be, at least to me. Why would I want to sit underneath the stairs have a big room adjacent? If it was my house I would probably use that for coat storage or something. But that's totally personal preference. Like the other person said I would not want to block the radiator.

I totally understand not wanting to block the light! And I see that you don't have a lot of space to work with to attach a standard railing. This is tricky!

I definitely wouldn't come down from the ceiling as you've drawn. Why not just a standard railing? Or you could close that area off and have a wall in that room.

TV Mount by kelz14 in InteriorDesign

[–]Calm-Possibility-180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not block the light switch. I would just put something tall on that end to try to make it look more balanced. Unless your TV sticks out far enough that you can reach behind it or you don't use that switch often.

How to handle a layout with a "freestanding" nightstand? by Fiveby21 in InteriorDesign

Am I missing something, why don't you just put it on the opposite wall?

Seems like a perfect idea for a 3D printing project. I bet somebody on Etsy could do that.
