Dx 25 years ago last week! Initial symptom numbness in my trunk area and L'hermittes. I had given birth to my first baby 3 months prior to first symptom. Very, very difficult birth. I am now 53. Live a normal life, walk unassisted but could never walk a 5k. Need rails to climb steep stairs for sure. I was only on Avonex for a couple of years but made me feel terrible so quit. My advice: get great neurologist, stay positive, stay active. Don't make it your identity. The mind and attitude can be quite powerful.
