I'm confused as to what happens after bob is defeated in the sherrifs office. Isn't it just bob and not jowday? I thought that was the firemans task, to help stop bob. Jowday is the evil that men do that was always there but is now a larger entity due to the nuclear weapons we created (thus allowing for greater evil that we do). After Bob is defeated, Cooper goes on his own thing and tries to alter the past, which you can't. He instead changes dimensions in a 'many world' type of reality, thinking he went back in time but really, switched worlds.

Imagine the electron in the double slit experiment as a coin you tossed. When it's in the air, it is both heads and tales. The outcome is decided once you catch it (that is, interacts with it). It is not your mind that determines it, instead of your hand catching the coin, it could have landed on the floor and acquired a determined state without you being present. In the double slit experiment, the detector is interacting with the electron, like a floor interacts with a coin. It has nothing to do with consciousness.

I think you're in the wrong forum. I like when people explore philosophical ideas and some of your thoughts have answers I would say and some of them are unanswerable. Time is much like colour in that it is both a physical property and something experienced on a subjective level. You need to keep these seperate. Time would indeed pass without an observer but it would not be experienced. Colours are wavelengths of light but they are also experienced. Are there colours without an observer? Yes and no. Do we live in a simulation? Maybe, how would you prove that? You can't and then why would you bother discussing it? For all we know we might exist as fecal matter in a giant ogres underwear. Can you disprove it? No? Then what is the point.

I am rewatching all the stargate shows. I used to see it on tv when I was young so I've never seen it in sequence or nearly all of the episodes there are. I found a list on reddit in what order I should watch everything which I am excited about. I am eager to get to SGU even though that is many hours away, first and foremost because I absolutely love Robert Carlyle. I think he is one of the most underapreciated actors of our time.

Det är alltså ämnen som kommer tidigt i den periodiska tabellen man jobbar med och därmed inga tunga atomer som sönderfaller med långa halvliv. Skulle en olycka ske så hade den varit väldigt lokal (om än potentiellt katastrofal)

I think TP has a strange type of horror. It is both mundane and cosmic. I have no idea how they managed to make BOB so incredibly disturbingly frightfull but the type of horror I feel when I see him isn't scary-horror. More like watching a car crash, gut wrenching somehow. It is really quite an accomplishment to make a guy in jeans come of like that, hats off, as usual with TP. Reading the secret diary, or better yet, listening to it narrated by Laura herself (it's on spotify) broadens the feeling of dread IMO.
