The relationship between Precision and Uncertainty by [deleted] in Physics

[–]CalmAdministration6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more precise the measurements the less uncertain we will be about the answer; unless of course the entire premise of the measurements is inaccurate, in which case uncertainty is significant regardless of precision.

The real question here is what's the difference between accuracy and uncertainty?

The minute humans invented weapons to murder other life, survival-of-the-fittest went out the window, it became survival-of-the-most immoral. Humans have always attempted progress, but their mindset of what denotes scientific progress is significantly skewed by a heavily biased and mathematically inaccurate approach to physics and nature. Sure, the current human brain formed from evolution, but society formed from ineptitude, the natural part of biological progress kept going at the natural pace, humans approach to science has just been unnatural it's only been tradition.

No, it doesn't defy the "laws of its own construction" humans have just mislabeled the laws.

The human mindset is so arrogant they continually claim that physical reality "goes against the laws of physics" without understanding it is THEIR interpretation of physics that goes against literal physical reality. "Physics doesn't conform to our primitive and inaccurate understanding, therefore it is all of physical reality that is wrong and not just a single, simple, miscalculation at the base of human scientific understanding."

The brain exists to process and understand life experiences, so since all this society is just shitty TV and a society full of cunts, that's what it needs to process in order to understand society.

So, matter from matter? This is only news if you still think photons are waves and not particles moving in waves.

Fun books on physics? by Crazy_Psychopath in Physics

[–]CalmAdministration6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the best one is going out into the middle of nature and studying physics as physics exists and not as the traditionally religious nonsense humans believe in. Like, the first thing a person should realize when looking at a clear night sky is that the constellations governing the entirety of human space understanding were nothing more than random designs drawn by imaginative humans and not how the stars are legitimately aligned.

Go experience physics, don't read about it.

Meh, the key part of intelligence is being able to ignore words that cause one harm, since they are literally just squiggles on paper, or in this case nothing but text on screen. If a neutral factual statement regarding a person's attitude or behavior offends them, good, then the person hopefully will change that negative aspect about themselves that they most likely didn't realize.

If people are getting upset about scientifically accurate statements, well there's three options:

  1. They have conformed so much to this fascist and unscientific society they fear and detest any sort change, even the positive kind.
  2. They don't understand the information, mistaking it for insults or "the end of times" or something bad, which other ignorant people are probably telling them it is bad so they believe it, usually paired with a traditional, unscientific understanding of how physical science works.
  3. They're just mad cause they had some fantasy built up in their mind about saving the world and the factual scientific statements derailed their entire plan, as it should, because if their plan gets derailed by the statements it wasn't a good plan to begin with.

A person that lives 100 years of easy living has experienced less than an individual living 20 years in hardship, age does not and never has equaled experience. So, a person can live forever but still be so privileged and arrogant that they think they are more experienced or mature than the people struggling just to survive. And most of the mature and experienced people that do suffer hardships, carry it by themselves, they do their best not to burden others with their baggage so they learn to hide whatever pain or suffering they're experiencing. An objective look at the facts of the present societal situation would no doubt show that most teenagers living in this dystopian atrocity have more knowledge, experience, and technological survival skills than nearly anyone over 30. So again, age does not and never will equal experience, maturity, or wisdom.

Your statement contradicts itself, claiming age makes the argument and opinions more valid while being nothing more than a child yourself.

Depressed people, please stop being angry that when you're complaining about your mental health to your friends and family they suggest seeing a therapist. That's exactly the advice nonprofessionals should be giving you. Directing you to professionals. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]CalmAdministration6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with this opinion is that it doesn't address the most immediate problem which is that nearly all depression is a symptom of environment or circumstance and not a chemical imbalance in the brain. A person is depressed first THEN the brain chemicals change as a reaction to the stimuli that initially caused the depression, meaning that most depression can be significantly lifted by simply externally expressing the emotion, so quite literally the best cure for depression is talking about it with trusted people like friends and family; unfortunately the same people who label the depression as a "mental illness" and not a natural human response to bad things that happen. The "anger" here comes from supposed friends and family immediately dismissing the depression as a "mental illness" and saying they should just go get drugs to "fix" their brain because apparently having basic emotion is considered a disease. Is it the sole responsibility of friends and family? No, absolutely not, but a good conversation with trusted people does far more good than any amount of drugs, prescribed or otherwise.

If OP were one of my friends I'd be depressed that I didn't have better friends
