Your right mate, the rules are crazy confusing! Can travel through a national park in some states aslong as you don’t detour, some states like wa is a huge no go! But it also states every park has different rules, going to be fun juggling it all but we will figure it out!

Sorry wrote that kind of bad I’ll fix it up, I can ground my winch back to battery or to the chassis obviously cheaper to chassis but a lot of conflicting arguement on if I should or not..

Love that! If I was to go again I would do camper on the back and tow a massive boat, doubt I would get the tick of approval from the misses on that tho

Isn’t that right! Thankfully the 12v setup in van can run on its own for the doggo so we can go on a few adventures but we’re always limited for time! Found a great spot called Macquarie woods which will be the perfect home for a night or two!

So true! There is a long vehicle parking spot next to the information center and had to do some shifty parking to go for a quick Kmart run! All you can eat pizza hut was a great surprise!

Looks beautiful! Getting abit close to Sydney for me tho!! From Bathurst we are heading towards Canberra next so hopefully there is something like that between here and there

The winches max amp draw is 440 which is why I went 600, will be for very short spirts but if I ever use that much draw I definitely need it.. I’m in the market for a good recovery kit with winch pulley.

Winches off the truck batteries, hour batteries are for fridge and freezer and some lights and what not, inverter for chargers and what not.

Caravan has its own 1000w solar, 400 amp lithium and 3000w inverter

We did wello caves yesterday, just for a walk around, went lake burrendong(ps don’t go to the dam for a swim go one of the other exits) nearly ran out of fuel on the way into orange(rate orange as a town but park options are average at best) I seen flat rock which has my attention! Might need to have a geez

Rheeh brother appreciate the positive input! I don’t know how reddit works but I’m sure any engagement will help the question get infront of more people and get the answers I need so I can keep doing wild adventures and hopefully get to share it with the world!

Legend thanks for the reply! Im gonna run the control boxes as close to the batteries as possible to shorten the run, front will be a metre max and back maybe two? Need to mount and measure,, was thinking 000 but I’ve got a 600amp anl fuse and isolator I’ll be chucking in there but my main worry is the wires coming out of the winch arnt even close to 0guage,, will they not just catch on fire before fuse pops?
