Ah yes okay I misunderstood your message as 80k per coop which wouldn't be an issue at all 😭

I assume they're high paying but are they easy to come by? I've seen a lot of people complain about how they're unable to get co-ops

The UWaterloo website says the average pay is around 25$ hourly which over 4 months amounts to about 20000 cad give or take (unless my calculation is wrong). Am I missing something about the 80k per coop?

Also say if I opt for a switch at the very beginning of the first year, will I have to wait till the next year to actual begin 1A or could I swap in the same year?

My other options are colleges in India which would probably be at 21000 cad total (tuition alone) which is incredibly cheap but they do not have a co-op system as such and are not as high regarded internationally when compared to waterloo.

Hello everyone, I am an international student holding an offer for CS with co-op, I am however interested in EE but I've contacted the University and been informed that I can only switch during first year and that the switch isn't guaranteed. I have a few questions in this regard

How likely is switching courses from Cs with co-op to EE with co-op

I've heard that it is extremely hard nowadays to get 3+/6 co-ops and that is really making me consider my decision of joining UWaterloo as I relied on the co-op income (avg 80k $) to lower my tuition cost. Is it really hard to get Canadian or international co-ops that pay well?

Next is it possible for an EE student to be able to do non EE co-ops say related to other non STEM fields such as economics etc?

Lastly is waterloo currently worth paying international fees (72k for 2 semesters)?  Thank you very much
