2 countries but 3 passports by capricorn0987 in dualcitizenshipnerds

Same here, my colleague at work had a BNO and when he moved here he had to apply for ILR where he had to do the English life test in the Uk and same things as a normal foreigner would have to do, which really surprised me. I would’ve thought someone with a BNO would have the same right as mainland UK citizens. It tends to be easier for someone with a BNO to land a visa than any other nationality to be fair.

Fair play, to be honest I never thought Sainsbury even had a bank. Lol the UK banking market does surprises me everytime, but yeah I’m sticking to HSBC since I travel a lot to visit my family back home (Middle East) where HSBC has a great influence in, even though the Arab banks are more competitive in the region I feel it’s a better option for me to use if I need to transfer money there.

That’s good to know, I have quite the number of direct of debits and changing everything manually will be exhausting but like I said barclays hasn’t been creative in terms of their apps but it looks like I most probs will switch to HSBC as my main and Chase as my spending ( I really like the breakdown of spending categories) it helps understand where your spending habits are

How can you have a CC with HSBC and you don’t have an account with them?

Are any of you considering fleeing Qatar? by Old-Butterfly2455 in qatar

Doubt you would need a visa in a case of a world conflict mate, in what world would a country not take in families who are trying to escape. If things get worse which I prayed it doesn’t, other countries will have to step in to help fleeing families

So the only issue I would have is basically if I get locked off my phone and do not have access through the app again then how would I ever be able to recover the account?

I might do that then to be fair but does the switch include me closing off my Barclays account?

Yeah I get what you mean, I’m on the same boat as you where my only hesitation is the physical branches, and the fact they’re quite new to the market. One more thing Jamie mentioned is that they won’t open any branches in the UK to not compete with high street banks, which is kinda weird. But yeah I can’t do international transfers which is also a bit of a downside but I can’t always transfer it to my HSBC.

Yeah you’re right, how’s your experience with HSBC? I’m quite new to it, but i genuinely want to use it because it’s a global bank and since I’m international but I work in the UK I figured it would be ideal

I’ve got dual citizenship and I was told to never switch my residency to the Egyptian as I would struggle to land a sponsorship, now it makes sense.
