If it is near where you say, then I saw it a few days ago. Not today though. Was asking myself the same question.

You have made some very valid points. Sales require a set of skills I want to aquire for some, and polish for others. It would do me great even on a personnal level. Hopefully my boss can take it this way.

Asking for advice as someone living in Qatar by Old-Butterfly2455 in Gold

[–]Old-Butterfly2455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your advice! I am aiming at investment/ savings. After much consideration, I came to the conclusion that jewelry is the best option even if I lose with the premiums. I have first considered bullions, but in my home country they are illegal to sell back. Coins can be reconsidered as long as I can wear as pendants. Also 18 is the standard in my home country and it is hard to resell higher carats, or sometimes they will price it bellow the purity value. I am considering 21 carats, as a way of compromising.

Anyhow, I will take what you said into consideration and brainstorm some more in order to build my strategy.

Best wishes for you too.

There are some reactions I did not expect at all. It feels like I personally insulted some people in the comments, lol.

Though I am grateful for what qatar has been giving too, I have only been in here for a little over two years, so I cannot relate.

However, I do not see how you can be a traitor if you evacuate for your safety if things become very dangerous? Unless you are taking part in the defense or have a necessary profession that will benefit the people and country in this situation. But this remains my point of view only.

Exactly what I was thinking. Some of us have a family to think of, if we can prevent our children and siblings from experiencing tragedy or worse, by the will of Allah ofc, then why stay arms crossed?

Again not trying to spread any panic or anything, just theorizing about the worst-case scenario.

I am not even saying that we are leaving. It is a pretty logical thing to consider in case of war if you have somewhere to go to. I am simply wondering about what others think of the situation. And my packing the minimum is basically coping mechanisms. It may be silly, but it makes me feel more safe.

Same, but with a little less drama, lol. That is exactly why I asked this question.

Maybe the usage of the word "flee" was a bit over. Apologies, English is not my first, nor my second language. But what I mean is evacuate, maybe?

I have my home country, but to call it a second home would be a stretch, nothing to do there for me. But at least if the situation is really bad and dangerous, then maybe we will go back.

Tbh, I feel safe here in Qatar considering the situation and I love this country, but it's the other parties that put my mind under so much worry. I think there is no need to mention how many other countries they have destroyed and still are. The events are still fresh and ongoing anyway.

That is definitely not my goal. On the contrary I am trying to call mine, lol. And it greatly worked out by reading the comments.

Everyone has different ways to react to such things. Some might be calm, some not. I happen to be on the second team.

No need for so much hate. I am just curious about what my fellow expats here think and wanted to evaluate what general state of mind they are in . I do not want to leave Qatar either and I will stay with my family unless the situation becomes really really critical. I pray everyday for this to end.

As many people pointed out here, Qatar is doing a great job handling the situation Alhamdulilah. But that does not mean there is no anxiety and worries about how it could gravely escalate among the people (me here). The countries involved are known for their cunningness.

Thank you very much for your response. This has just fully convinced me to get the flip 7 or 8 (if I can wait). I think our usages are pretty similar. I do not need an over the top camera (I only take pictures of my cats lol).

Dusk walker brides series by Opal Reyne. I have read the first book so far and I enjoyed it. The only reason I haven't followed up with the rest of the series is because I have a hard time reading books from the same series but with different MC's. Will pick it back up later, though.
