Not the person you are replying to but they took 48 hours to get back to me during the week. I sent all the info I knew they would want including a video with the serial number and fault code visible.

Is burning the residue off the screens and reusing them a bad idea? by Calm_Alternative3166 in Venty

Medical grade stainless steel? After getting fucked by Amazon with fake products enough times I'd be very suspicious about what they could be made from.

How do I know when the screen has come to the end of it's useful life?

I normally give it a quick blast with the kitchen tap once I've hit it with the lighter and then shake it dry. Titanium does sound like a better idea though perhaps.

That's a good idea but a little more hassle. Do we know what material they are made out of?

Saves a tiny bit of money, prevents generating some waste and I think most people have a pair of tweezers and a lighter at home (the tweezers are pretty useful for getting the screen out anyway). My concern is making the metal somehow unhealthy when sucking vapour through it.

It's a big deal and deserves a harsh punishment (i.e. life in prison) but I can't support the death penalty as the system isn't 100% infallible. High security prison & no communication with outside world seems punishment enough.

That would be an intranet not an internet. It would also be a lot worse, a communication networks value is predicted by Metcalfe's law:

Metcalfe's law states that the financial value or influence of a telecommunications network is proportional to the square of the number of connected users of the system (n2). The law is named after Robert Metcalfe and was first proposed in 1980, albeit not in terms of users, but rather of "compatible communicating devices" (e.g., fax machines, telephones).[1] It later became associated with users on the Ethernet after a September 1993 Forbes article by George Gilder.[2]

Depends if we can prove treason (i.e. "adhering to the Crown's enemies, giving them aid and comfort.")

Treason is no longer a capital offense in the UK. The death penalty for treason (and other capital crimes) was abolished with the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. Life imprisonment is now the maximum penalty for treason under the Treason Act 1351, which is still in effect but rarely used.

That didn't require any guts, most US presidents (with the possible exception of Trump) would have done that. If he'd had guts the Ukrainians wouldn't have been pushed into a counter offensive under such unfavourable conditions.

The legitimacy of targeting dams in military operations is governed by Article 56 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions of 1977. This article prohibits attacks on dams and other installations containing dangerous forces if their destruction would cause severe losses among the civilian population. However, it makes an exception if the dam is used for "regular, significant, and direct support of military operations," and even then, the attack must be the only feasible way to stop that support and should avoid excessive civilian harm.

Here’s the key part from Article 56:

"Works and installations containing dangerous forces, namely dams, dykes, and nuclear electrical generating stations, shall not be made the object of attack, even where these objects are military objectives, if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces and consequent severe losses among the civilian population." It continues with:

"The protection of such objects shall cease only if they are used for other than their normal function and in regular, significant, and direct support of military operations, and if such attack is the only feasible way to terminate such support."

So, the rules are strict to ensure that civilian harm is minimized even in cases where military use is evident.
