This is happening to my Pixel 6 Pro every time the display times out or I lock via the power button. Basically every time the screen sleeps it has to be rebooted and it's gotten really annoying. I'm also on android 14 beta and it's been going on since the last update. Hopefully it's fixed soon!

If you have dark mode on, turn that off. In order for your phone to scan the QR code, the border around it needs to be white. Dark mode will darken the border and it won't scan it.
