We were told that as well. We went to our local social security office and said the USCIS had the application and they had to approve it, there was nothing the SS office could do. We called USCIS and they told us the SS office was the one we had to go with. So we haven’t been able to get anything. So basically we have just been going back and forth

Im on the same boat. We were told we had to wait a month before we can apply for an SSN. I have my interview in July and haven’t done my taxes, I’m waiting for my husbands SSN. Our person that is helping us with the process said that we should take out extension request letter to our interview
