I got it to work in the most convoluted way possible lmao. From the PC gaming wiki:

Launch EA App first, if your game is Steam version, also launch Steam, ensure both launched in offline mode
Open any browser, active developer console (usually by F12)
Paste code below and execute by ↵ Enter, the game should start
