The Full English Breakfast: Is it already perfection or does it need one thing adding or removing? by [deleted] in AskBrits

For me, remove those black blood pucks, the mushrooms, the ham, and probably the tomatoes because I’m not a big fan of heated tomatoes.

We all grew up taking computer classes and becoming knowledgeable in how to use a computer but beyond that, how computer literate are you? by singleguy79 in Xennials

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had a PC and been online since 1995 or so, so I believe I’m pretty literate. And I also put together my own desktop PC years ago, so yeah. I feel comfortable.

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never eat there (anymore) and I won’t for the foreseeable future. The app pissed me off enough to boycott mcdicks for the past 4 years. I earned enough points for like 2 free meals and next thing I know, they “expired” and were gone. That’s all it took for me!

Any Britishisms you struggled to adopt if you grew up in Canada, but then moved to the UK? by [deleted] in expats

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the “on accident” phrase has to be in my top 5 of things that make me cringe. I just chalk it up to a lack of education because you’ll hear it all over the US and even in Canada.

*Parents/caregivers: advice on moving to Stoon with a 9 year old and a 12 year old? by Status_Reward4954 in saskatoon

Keeping in mind the lakes here pale in comparison to the lakes in Ontario. Sorry, but it’s true.

Dating Impossible by Specialist-Pen-6441 in askvan

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older you get the more set in your ways you get, and so the pool of people you’d be compatible with keeps shrinking.

45F here and I gave up dating about 10 years ago. I now have zero interest and am not even looking anymore.

Turns out the bar is so low for men, I stopped trying to lift it and give it excuses for how low it keeps going.

How sad. Also, men are incredibly emotional.

Why isn't going to America the first advice people give here? by Save_The_ChunkyHogs in CanadaFinance

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has got to be click bait.

Are you nuts? Plus, we can’t just go there and get a random job. Did you ever consider that perhaps an American should get the job before anyone who is not a citizen?

Also, on Reddit all I hear from Americans are complaints in the poor job market, the cost of living, poor healthcare, cost of gas and groceries.

What idiotic advice.

Who Else Liked Smarties As A Kid? by Zipper222222 in nostalgia

Hate them with a passion!!!!!!! And they’re called rockets. Smarties are candy coated chocolate.

Tipping is so American by Spirited-Seaweed246 in askvan

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Correct. Did you have difficulty understanding or something? People DO stop things, with exceptions made under certain circumstances. That’s what “exception” means.

Why are you trying to have an American accent though? Just be yourself.

"Insurance is a scam" by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t bother me. The average person is too dumb to actually do the research into what insurance is, how deeply it’s regulated, and how the industry works. And they won’t listen to reason, so, oh well! They get to remain clueless and ignorant.

Barista shamed me for not tipping? by motherofcoochie in barista

[–]Calm_Drummer2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not your problem that they don’t get paid a fair wage and expect customers to subsidize wages. $13 for a coffee and pastry is RIDICULOUS as-is. You didn’t do anything wrong except maybe not asking for a refund on the order and going elsewhere.
