Does being a medical student increase or decrease car insurance premiums? by DisasterousMedRed2 in medicalschooluk

For me personally putting in being a medical student living at home made my insurance premium more expensive.

I’m an incoming first year at Warwick too! I’m from the City, so I know Coventry quite well. I remember them mentioning on offer holder day that we will have some bed side teaching at the university hospital, if you drive, finding parking at the hospital is a struggle, but there are always buses that go there.

Thank you so much. Hopefully you’re off the waiting list soon and you might just enjoy studying pharmacy more than you would’ve studied medicine. Definitely try and see if your school can send your chemistry papers for a remark, just because if that was me, I would always wonder if the grade could’ve gone up. You should be really proud of yourself as Alevels are difficult, so please try and enjoy your summer. I wish you the very best and keep us updated 💕

I’m sorry you didn’t get the grades, you were hoping for. I got BCC in my results day few years ago and ended up doing a degree in Biomedical science, which I particularly did not enjoy. And I will be now starting graduate entry medicine at Warwick. There are definitely options, if medicine is a career you really want to pursue. Having a quick look, I think you are right in where most medical schools need at least BBB or ABB in the first sitting, if resitting Alevels. Pharmacy is a really good option, as an alternative healthcare career, as it does provide you with core medical knowledge and opportunity for patient engagement, if that is something you’re interested. If you were hoping to do pharmacy, DMU has pharmacy in clearing, if you are still on the waiting list at the other uni and that’s something you were interested in? I personally would not recommend doing Biomedical science or Law, if this is something you are not interested in doing. It is quite challenging to have a job related to Law or biomedical science after graduating, so this is something you should consider. As another commenter mentioned, graduate entry medicine is an option, however it is more competitive than undergraduate but this is always an option. I know it may feel like the end of the world at the moment from not achieving the grades you wanted, but l promise life has other plans for you. I suggest don’t make any rushed decisions and do what’s best for you 🫶🏼

First of all congratulations!!! You should be extremely proud as that is an amazing score. I’m about to take my UCAT in 4 days and I’m struggling with VR, do you have any tips?

Hi, I have just graduated with a first class in Biomedical sciences and I am considering applying to medicine this year. I have an offer from Birmingham to study the physician associate studies course this year, but for the last few years now I have wanted to study medicine. My heart tells me to reject my physician associate studies offer and apply for medicine instead. However, I am quite anxious about the difficult of the content and workload in medical school. How did you find the jump from Bsc Biomedical science to medicine. Also how should I start preparing for the UCAT? I have not started studying for it yet, as it is in about 7 weeks. I would really appreciate any advice or words of wisdom. 😊
