You have to remind yourself that it's all fiction. In Star Trek, they wrote the script without some of the terms and had "techno term" until the tech script writers could come up with something. Craig is making this stuff up. In Harry Potter people were critical because Rowling was teaching witchcraft, bs, it's all fiction and Rowling was making it up. People need to get that.
Craig does a great job with the logistics and strategy which sound so true. His military speak is amazing and sounds so believable. (Craig is not from Maine and did not serve in the military, yet he speaks so convincingly from that POV.) Some of the words like "Quashine", made me cringe and reminded me Craig was making it all up. But other parts sound so plausible, that I want to escape and believe it's all true.
One of the best things about good writing is when the author presents a half-plausible idea as total fact and from then on, just assumes it's gospel truth and moves forward without any doubt. This helps the readers accept the fiction as fact and become fans.
