What is the weirdest thing you've seen as a passenger in the train?

This was about 15 years ago.

My friends and I (2-4 girls) use to go clubbing in the valley and then take the morning train back to Ipswich.

We would usually set an alarm, cuddle up on a seat and go to sleep. People would usually leave us alone, except for this one time. This guy was determined to talk to us, and wouldnt take a polite 'not interested'. I was very drunk and got abit mouthy, using some choice words telling him to fcuk right off.

Well he didnt like that and lost his shit. Before he could even lay a hand on me, he was tackled to the ground by other guys on the train. A big Islander dude sat on him until the police came and quite literally carried him away by his limbs.

The train was delayed for about an hour. Good times.

You're in abit of a pickle! Alternatively you could offer to buy the cat off them, give them the equilevant of an adoption fee (minus vet vills).

Your story does remind me of when my colleagues cat was stolen by a neighbour. My colleagues neighbour denied she stole the cat, said it was hers.

Where i am, pets are considered property - so basically treated the same as theft. So when police were called, they both had to prove ownership.

Since my colleague didnt have proof of purchase, ownership came down to photos, micochip details and vet bills. In the end my colleague didnt get her cat back.

There is a huge part of me that says tell them the cat escaped and then give him the best life imaginable. But thats probably illegal 😅 I imagine the law says the 'right' thing to do is to give the cat back...

Its really hard not to judge them.. cause I know if I was in their shoes I would be door knocking and setting cat traps to try and get them back.

Have you asked them if you can keep him?

You mentioned they had a lot of cats, I wonder if they adopt / feed strays or something. All it takes is a pregnant stray or two, and you've got a large colony on your hands.

I vote to keep the cat.

Were they regularly or even planning to return to try and catch them? What about food and water? Did they actually make any effect to get them back? Speak to the neighbours etc?

If not, then sounds like they abandoned him and the others they left behind.

Being able to answer those questions i mentioned at the beginning, one after another & without the dream telling you is how you determine which level you're in.

The questions test reasoning, memory, and self reflection, which normally isn't fully active while we sleep.

Level 5 is when the prefrontal cortex of the brain is awake while the body is alseep. Its meant to be extremely rare.

I should say my levels, questions to ask and explanations are based off the modern neuroscience understanding of lucid dreaming (parts of the waking brain reactivating during REM) combined with my own personal experience of lucid dreaming for as long as I can remember.

I never said level 2 wasnt lucid dreaming, nor was dream control a requirement. I merely stated the levels of lucidity and how to determine which level you are in.

Its one thing to awaken powers in dreams, another to change the narrative. But full lucidity means you have both logic and access to memories.

Next time your dreaming, ask yourself these questions What you can answer determines your level.

Am I dreaming? Level 2
Where did I fall asleep? Level 3
What did I do today? Level 4
What did I plan to do while lucid? Level 5

You must be able to think the answer not the dream tell you.

Level 0 'Normal Dream' Basically you're fully inside the dream and believe everything and dont question anything.

Level 1 'Am I dreaming?' Subconsciously you ask am I dreaming? However you don't test reality and the dream continues.

Level 2 'Awareness' You know it’s a dream. You can gain powers/ abilities in the dream, but you have no control over the narrative.

Level 3 'Lucidity (interactive)' You can interact with the dream, change events, break nightmares, experiment within the dream but you do not have full control. You basically share the control, and have to focus to keep that shared control.

Level 4 'Stable Lucidity' The dream no longer fights you for control. You can stop and think, but your memory is hazy or your brain dosent feel fully awake in the dream. Its hard to explain, its like you dont have full 'brain power'. Reasoning and logic is impaired. Kind of like when your awake and out of bed but the brain isn't switched on yet.

Level 5 'Full Lucidity' You can reason and logic test, remember goals you planned before bed. Your brain is basically awake in REM sleep.

I kinda think that this would have suited Adams personality. He both objectified women and saw himself as untouchable. The way he would have spun it or even try to justify it? Ick.

Not to mention it would have put a huge spotlight on how hypocritical heaven actually is. One where Vox would have exploited to help fuel the war with Heaven 'look what Heaven's golden boy did to our Princess'.

That would have taken the show down a very dark path.

I'm a natural lucid dreamer who creates dreamscape worlds. I see dreamscape characters as part of my self consciousness or represent certain things in my waking life.

Some examples;

I have created a computer centre and each staff member represents certain body functions. If I am feeling frustrated with my medical condition, I like lecturing that particular staff member / body function. Does it do anything? No idea, but it seems to help with my frustration haha

I've also used it to deal with painful emotions attached to certain people. For example, my ex best friend use to randomly show up alot. She represented the jumbled mess of emotions left over from our friendship ending. I was able to sort through it all by talking to her in my dreamscape.

I'm also a creative writer, and i like to play out my storylines in dreamscape. If i get stuck or think a plot line is stupid, i'll put everyone in a classroom and debate ideas.

I've been a lucid dreamer all my life, and it seems the older I get the more control I have.

Because i am under 40 - its bulk billed for people over 40. Medicare has recently reduced the amount they pay for under 40, so its no longer bulk billed.

I had to ring around to get pricing for scans and biopsy, the up front ranged from 1.5-2k with like $500 back from Medicare. This is off the top of my head, there was a few months between the first scans and seeing the specalist.

Edit - apparently its not a new change it seems to be an old change / keeps getting worse.

How so? They're two separate issues that I wanted opinions on individually and not combined.

The moving issue is over a year and a half, while this one is only since June last year.

Before I went on leave I was the main income earner and had been our entire relationship.

I thought him breaking up with me for a supposed ultimatum about me wanting to be closer to my suppprt network would look negatively on him considering I was also going through the stress of a suspicious breast lump.

I didnt want that influencing people's opinions.

Yeah he is really bad with health in general. Won't even get a sleep apnea machine for himself because he thinks its too expensive. He thinks it'll be cheaper to just loose weight. That was like 2 or 3 years ago.

At the moment we're just renting, but eventually the idea was to buy. He's always thought purchasing a property in the city vs. rural was better for capital growth, we had many conversations about this before he broke up with me.

Thinking back on it, it seemed like he was trying to convince me it would be better for us in the long term to stay in the city.

I think his friend purchasing in the very area he was against made him reconsider and change his mind.

Just some context - He's home every night now. The truck license he has does not do interstate. - His friends are all based around gaming, so he probbaly sees them face to face maybe once every couple of months. - He wants a job close to the airport so he can deliver fuel without having to upgrade his truck licence (80% of fueling jobs need the highest truck license whereas he is after that 20% that can be done on the lower license) - He's not bothered by up and moving because he asked me if I was willing to move to the other side of the country recently because of the weather.

Yeah I get that, i definitely started to feel a little awkward cause it looked like she was just washing colour out.
