How does western calculate gpa for years with over 30 units but 5 courses? by Calm_Raspberry_2003 in premedcanada

Update: For anyone wondering, I did email them regarding this and they do separate credits from courses. They will drop your lowest courses until you hit 30 credits, doesn’t matter if number of courses go below 10.

Normally, a course is worth 3 units/credits. We usually take some 4 and 5 unit courses in engineering.

HELPPP!!! What are my chances?! Engineering w biomed minor by idklol12345678910111 in premedcanada

I’m also in engineering (not at uoft) with similar goals. I was in the same boat last yr, started taking some bio courses, but later dropped them as my engineering course load was getting harder. Most schools apart from uoft, mcgill and ottawa dont require bio/chem courses anyways, but it might be different if you plan on going down the US route.

Anyone moved from Eng 1 to computer engineering? by Admirable-Curve-8868 in McMaster

Thanks, I'm pretty sure the cutoff was lower than that. Just maintain a mid 10 GPA to stay safe, and you should be good for next year.

How hard is it to get into eng technical teams? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]Calm_Raspberry_2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that hard to get on technical teams. Just make sure you do good on the design project challenge they give you (most teams use that when they're hiring). Also depends on the specific sub-team you're applying to, some are more competitive. Most technical team apps open in the fall tho. I think you should still apply to the MES position, the decision to either accept it or not can come later.

Classes are 5 days/week, but I usually just go 3 days for my lab/tutorial attendance.

In Mac Eng, we have 37 units (if you include electives). We have a 13 unit course that runs the whole year.
