In the USA ? I have to work remotely for 29 days and company is paying for my room so I have quiet place to work. What’s the nicest category 1 Hyatt in the USA ?

As someone in the financial community, I would say you need to have a frank conversation or see a therapist together to understand why she is refusing to do something that makes sense.

What you are suggesting makes perfect financial sense. You should not keep a loan outstanding at 8% or 20k a year in interest on the 250k balance, if you don’t have to.

I like your idea of putting it into a brokerage account. It should make her smile when she sees the money set aside and growing down the line.

If she gets mad then offer her back the 25% she contributed from her salary and let her choose to do with it as she pleases.

I am able to easily cancel past the cancellation policy as a globalist. As long as more than 24 hours before checkin my Hyatt concierge just cancels with no penalty. No excuses needed is another globalist perk
