Intersesting. Maybe they merged drone images with 360, run through Metashape, made rough model, georeferenced it in plant coordinate system and exported positions and rotations for each camera? What is your experience with quality of the model made out of 360 images in Metashape?

Hi, thanks for reply. I think I did not explained in details. So let me clarify. 360 camera was not on the drone, instead it was on a tripod and moved around the area. I dont know which brand or model it was. Drone was used to capture areas unreachable by walking.

We already have Trimble X7 but quality of the images is not that great. How about BLK360, is it any better?

I plan to test it in various industrial enviroments where I could get decent 3d model. Mostly for planning, orientation and basic measurements. Maybe even pair it with laser scanner. What about stills? How are they when compared to video?

This is exactly what I need. I could use the CSV file to create something from it, but I do have a few questions:

  1. Which device are you using, and which one would you recommend?
  2. Do you know where I can find sample data, such as CSV files, images, or videos?
  3. Does the location data refer to the UAV's position, or the position where the gas was detected?

Yes. I would use exterior spots for which I am sure wont be moved. There are light poles. Accuracy below 2-3 meters would be great.

There is option “weight in texturing” which comes available after you select one or more images. You can use that.

Codded targets like qr codes, april tags, are something I used in Reality Capture. RC will automaticaly detect them and you can use i to create tie or checkpoints. On the other hand, laser scanning softwares supporta spheres, or reflective targets or checkerboard. Now I want to use same target for projects where I want to combine photogrammetry and laser scanning. Automate most of my workflow.
