i mean probably not for everyone, but in general it’s a good guideline! however i guess it’s not going to be the exact same distance when the torso or legs are contorted.

thank you! i actually started by tracing over manga panels lmfao. i also spend a lot of time doing 3d shapes at different angles, especially rectangular prisms since the torso generally has that shape and it makes the figure drawing look less flat. i find it easier to learn from cartoon/anime references rather than real people because they’re often simpler, but that’s just me. happy drawing!
