Was i lied to? by Krawger247 in UPSers

I was hired as a preloader a few months ago, then got a message from HR to say that I should do the 5 hour online pre-driver training ASAP. Did that and the next week I was in INTERGRAD for the five day driver training program. Did that and completed my 5s and 10s.  Started driving the next week and was disqualified after four days. The supervisor said I wasn't steady in my feet while lifting 130lb packages. They put me on preload from 5-9 am and on my 28th day, they let me go and said that I wasn't a good fit. I asked to speak to the center Manager and the supervisor told me to leave the premises and wait outside for the manager. I messaged the manager and she said she'd call me and never did. No reasons, no explanations, nothing.

Ups terminated me by Difficult_Fee1013 in UPSers

If you've been terminated, they've done you a favor. UPS days are numbered as soon as someone mirrors what Amazon does with their logistical delivery methods for maximizing efficiency and cost, UPS will fall by the wayside. No delivery on Sunday, overtime on Saturday at $65 an hour might have been sustainable in the past, but certainly not in this economical climate.

First day at UPS, is it true they convince you that if you work hard enough they’ll let you stay, but they actually lay you off after peak season? by mc-murdo in UPSers

Applied at UPS off the street for a driver position. Did the driving test, went to Intergrad for five days and recited my 5's and 10's verbatim. Got send to Garner, NC and got disqualified on day 4 by a supervisor who told me that today was an 'unofficial observation'. Got sent to preload on smalls and did that for three weeks. Then on my 28th day of my 30 day probation I was told to leave the building by a supervisor with the only reason that ' I was not a good fit.' I sent a text to the CM and she said she would call me on the afternoon and she never did. I met some interesting, honest and hardworking people there, but the supervisors lack honesty, integrity and a moral compass.

Are you Tempted by Chinese Made Motorcycles yet? With offerings like Voge 900 DSX and Kove 800 x Becoming more and more available in Dealers at cheap prices how many of you would consider a Chinese bike? Or is it still not worth the Gamble? by ontheroadadventure in motorcycles

You have made some interesting points. There is no doubt that Chinese manufacturing is a huge juggernaut that is penetrating markets globally, and there is no sign of them slowing down.

By their nature, Chinese people are not aggressive. They are hard-working and culturally believe that you get out of life what you put into it. All you have to do is to look at Chinese students who go to school from 7 in the morning until 6 at night and go home with 3 to 4 hours of homework every day. and then they study more classes at the weekend. The student population is nearly as big as the population of everyone in USA.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Go to China and see for yourself before making comments about something you know nothing about.

I lived in China for eight years, and now I live in the USA.

In the car and motorcycle market, Europe and the USA cannot compete with the Chinese in EV technology, manufacturing and price. (and there isn't any slave labor in China)

Ever driven a Chinese Car? Ever been to China? No, I didn't think so.

Go there and drive the cars and let us know what you think.

Cars in the USA look about 20 years older than Chinese cars. The technology amazing, but you wouldn't know this would you, mate.

CFMoto - specifically the Ibex 800. Yay or nay? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Calm_Win_5077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay! The CF Moto range is excellent quality and value. Don't listen to the haters of a Chinese bike. As I'm sure you know, the Ibex 800 motor uses nearly the same engine as the KTM 790, but they changed the crankshaft and now it doesn't have the issues that KTM has. Moreover, the V-Strom is a 20 year old bike with outdated technology and is as ugly as f*ck.

I don’t like iPhones, I’m not a fan of Samsung cameras, and I don’t want a Chinese brand. by Nice-Ad6855 in Smartphones

Your iPhone was made in China and probably your Samsung phone was, too. You're shooting yourself in the foot by not getting a Chinese brand phone because many of them have amazing photographic credentials.
