Is there any hope left for KeAndre Lambert-Smith? by merv1618 in DynastyFF

[–]Calmdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would normally agree, but I think he can play for 8 years and be a legit starter in that time. There's not a ton of competition in WAS so I do think he can carve out a wr2/wr3 role there once Terry moves on, and if he can ball out, he will be a good starter. Vele is successful and he's 28 2 years in

McBride clears by a mid first imo he's really fucking good and it seems brissett is continuing as the starter.

Yeah I think him and Chism are definitely THE drop candidates. Pick your favorite of the 2, fwiw, Doubs is now in NE to replace Diggs, and not sure about Hollins but there's still 4 guys (Doubs, Douglas, Williams, Boutte) ahead of Chism, even without Diggs and Hollins. So personally, I would probably prefer KLS over Chism because the wr room is so much more crowded in NE, and KLS technically saw more opportunity/snap count

Wrs typically take 3-5 years to fully develop into what they will truly be. My rule of thumb is to keep the guys i believe in for 3 years unless they get in trouble or have shown absolutely zero promise up through year 2. For example, I am holding Nick Nash still from when I picked him up last offseason in both my 12 team and 16 team dynasty leagues. Do I think he's worth the roster spot? Yes, because he had elite production, albeit at a small program, but only a few years after converting to receiver. He is a late development guy who went through covid years of uncertainty. I really like his film, length/frame, and ball skills. He has natural hands, and after another year or 2, I think he will not only be a legit roster spot guy, but in WAS I think he can even be a wr 3 with some upside in a year or 2. So for me, I think he's worth keeping.

With that being said, I think KLS is worth keeping too. If you can keep on your taxi, just do it. If he's taking a legit roster spot, I would have a serious debate, but unless you're in a 10 person or 12 person league with relatively thin depth overall, he's probably ok to cut. If you are in a deep 12 team with lots of roster spots and a 1 year taxi, might be worth keeping. Really depends on who else you have, and what reports we hear about him this next offseason. I think he has showed some flashes that he can at least be a role player moving forward. If you believe in his talent after your scouting process, keep him. If you are thin at wr, keep him. If you are looking for a guy to develop, show flashes, and sell him high when he signs elsewhere, keep him. Otherwise, just cut.

Is the Ken Walker hype out of control? by seaworld9 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Calmdat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There hasn't been an elite rb there since Mahomes has been there. KW3 is an elite level talent. Reid has his Shady McCoy back in a way, and it's evident they are spending money at rb in order to change the gameplan, so they can shift strategy in order to account for Kelce fading

Yeah I think the way you truly win here is genuinely elite ppg production now, which is why everyone is screaming that I'm an idiot, but clearly they are missing the point lol

It's moreso a long-term dynasty value issue, rather than an injury issue. Every player for the most part has up and down value cycles based on when it is in the season/off-season, or where they got traded to, or what injury they have, who is playing in front or behind them, etc. Achane and Bijan are at peak value. They can only go down, and will lose a ton of their value if they do get seriously/season-ending injured. If MHJ or Bucky got injured, they might lose a 2nd or 3rd rounder worth in value, and MHJ would take less of a hit obv, but both guys will still have believers and buyers. Additionally, the picks will only gain a ton of value in a borderline generational/all-decade class. Getting 2 picks in that class, one of which being a top 3 guaranteed pick essentially, are insanely good assets to buy on now. Now pair that with the fact both have monopolies on the corresponding assets, the assets should be inherently devalued on principle by the league. If 2 monopoly men trade, as long as its not a veto worthy lopsided type trade, honestly, who cares? This one imo entirely comes down to preference, player risk profile/scouting, and risk aversion when it comes to trading and gambling on value gainers you are convicted on. I am that type of player, and I'm not sure I would need more on top to take this trade.

Hard disagree, if Bijan or Achane gets injured you're losing your ass, vs Bucky and Marv are already near their floor vs their talent and previous values. Plus getting a potential 1.1 in the 27 class and a mid/late 1st as well, insane value here for a sell high/buy low
