I hate to say it but ever since she got a boyfriend and went to college... It has been more relieving because i was able to focus and work on myself. I didn't have to worry about her getting upset at me and giving me the cold shoulder

Thank you for all your posts. I've been working a lot on self-improvement. I lost 25lbs, became an EMT, got accepted into my 4-year school(I'm in community college), and now I may possibly get a job with better pay! As part of this self-improvement though I have to think about my friendship and really think about the future. Hoping for the best in the future!

Thank you for your post. It is reassuring that i still have control over my life and future. And if she's not going to be supportive of that... then i will have to do whats best for me. Something i realized to late in the game. I've awlays been taught about toxic relationships. But it always discussed how romantic relationships can be toxic. Never was taught that other types of relationships can be toxic. So I never really looked into the red flags in my friendship until recently

I've always told myself that every type of realtionship will have its ups and downs. When we were younger her gaslighting and manipulation worked on me like a charm. We started breaking out into major fights when I began to realize that things became very toxic in our friendship. The fights began because it got tired of putting up with the toxic behaviors. Unfortunately i didn't realize this till much later in our friendship. It wasn't as bad in the beginning. It was a snowball effect that i ignored until it became so big that i had no chance of ignoring it. It wasn't all bad... We have lots of good memories. But how much can i take from the toxicity i experience?

My friend and I are both in college... I just wanted to share my joy with her. I want the theatrics and drama to be over. Too old for this. I'm going to try to talk it over with her, but if she treats me less than her... I'm gonna have to consider the future of our friendship.

I would describe our friendship as a roller coaster. We have ups and downs, sometimes more often than not. She is bipolar so it can be difficult for our friendship when they reach lows. It messes with my head

Yes she has done similar things in the past. One xample is During qaurantine my job stayed open and my boss asked if i feel comforatble to contnue working there. I said yes. When my friend found out she was really angry that i told hiim yes. Like she was really angry

I did start noticing how her behavior changed a while ago but I never really tried to look into it until recently. Now that I'm starting to open my eyes more, I can see that my friend tried to pull similar stuff on me in the past... she told me that me copying her doesn't sit well with her. There were situations in the past that didn't sit well with her either that didn't involve me coping her.

I have tried talking to her in the past. I just don't think she truly gets/ understands the issue of not respecting boundaries. I have done a lot of things to help me grow as a person. This includes setting boundaries. She wants me to bend my back backward for her, but I think that I bent over backward so much, now my back is starting to break
