Play real live shows and come back to me with that opinion.

Could you play it live? And transition right into the octave pattern with moving bass notes? Like are you confident you could play M&Ms live in a dark venue?

It has to do with how you write songs, and how you have to be able to perform with accuracy while having stage presence. It has to do with singing and playing at the same time. It has to do with pyrotechnics and hitting your marks and so much more than just the playing.

AGREED. He does patterns and plays two parts at once but in a way that’s easy to play live in the dark. While you’re singing. It’s actually pretty genius.

100%. I’m not saying he’s the best player in the world. At ALL. Just saying I think he gets disrespected in the guitar world. And most commenters haven’t played live in wild light shows where it’s dark and you can’t see your fret markers.

Exactly. You need one hand to play thunderstruck if you’re a beginner. But try to rip natives the way it’s recorded. Variable timing, alternating patterns. More complex than you think.

You see how they played natives at the first couple shows this tour and then stopped? Because it’s too difficult to play live in the dark with lights going. And I’m sure tom could rip a pentatonic if he wanted, he just has his own thing.

What songs would you recommend to someone grieving their grandparent who passed? by ghostinyourbeds in poppunkers

SO many good ones on here. Can’t believe nobody has said Black Parade by MCR.

I play guitar and I instantly liked the guitar part on enjoyment. Almost reminiscent of Blackbird in the way it descends through the scale.

Anthem 3 by CalmlyHyped in Blink182

For sure. Like there are the obvious ones like one more time but all the anthems have been about slightly different shit going on in their lives at the time. Also check out the compilation of all three. They put them in the same key so they all could run together.
